This article is considered accurate for the current version (1.60) of Foxhole.
A heavy-duty, long-range marksman rifle. The Clancy-Raca has one hell of a kick but is fitted with a powerful scope, allowing infantry to survey the battlefield and provide support from a safe location.
In-game description

The Clancy-Raca M4 (simply known as a Raca) is a Warden Sniper Rifle. It uses 7.62mm as ammunition.

Description

It is a Warden 7.62mm primary weapon with very high damage (101-151 SubtypeSBIcon.png), slow fire rate (30 rounds/min), extreme range (57.5m effective, 62.5m max), and a 5 round magazine. It is extremely accurate and has a high recoil. It always downs its target in a single shot within its effective range, the longest of all firearms. Its accuracy is extremely slow to stabilize even with a stable position. Its practical fire rate is around 8.4 rounds/min when prone (8.7 with added full cover). It gains very little stability from cover unlike most firearms, thus making its use in the standing position very slow. Any movement significantly impacts the gun's stability.

It is pretty heavy (200) and significantly slows the player when wielded. It cannot be fired while standing without cover or from an Landing APC or Barge.

It stabilizes slower than its Colonial counterpart but has a higher range and damage.

The Soldier Uniform reduces the Clancy-Raca's Weight by 25%.

It does not stack in the player's inventory (1 per slot).

Mass Production Factory orders must have at least 3 crates.

Storage

It does not stack in structure or vehicle inventories (1 per slot). It can only be stored in the stockpile of Bases (32k max).
Crates of Clancy-Raca M4 can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content. The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots. However it is much more efficient to transport it in bulk amounts as crates, either delivering them to a Base's stockpile with a Truck or to a crate stockpile with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers.

Tactics

Due to its extreme range, the gun is the best to kill entrenched enemies, especially those with machine guns. Tank commanders also make good targets when no tank cannon can fire beyond 45m. Due to the gun's weight, very slow stabilization, and meager cover bonus, firing from a prone position with or without cover is the most efficient. Firing from a standing position behind cover, like in a Trench, is possible but not recommended as you'll regain stability extremely slowly. Given the vulnerability of the prone position, an elevated or hidden position can increase your survivability.

Due to the heavy movement penalty when wielding the gun it's better to switch to your secondary weapon when you want to move.

Given that it gains little stability from cover and that being inside a structure puts you in the crouched position, using the gun from inside any garrisonable structure (i.e. Pillbox, etc...) gives you a slower fire rate than just being prone on the ground.

Trivia

  • Prior to Update 0.48, all sniper rifles were chambered with 8.5mm ammunition, which was only used in sniper rifles. This was changed in order to standardize ammunition and allow for greater use of sniper rifles.
  • The Clancy-Raca M4 Sniper Rifle appears to combine aspects of the German Gewehr 41 (M) and the British Lee-Enfield, with a British No. 32 Telescopic Sight.
