— In-game description |
Salvage (also known as Scrap) is one of the primary raw resources in the game, used in the production of numerous items and equipment.
Acquisition
Salvage Fields
Salvage nodes at a Salvage Field can be mined with a Hammer, Sledge Hammer or Harvester. Each field starts with 30 nodes spawned on the ground and 250 more in reserve. Each node yields around 200 Salvage, meaning that each field contains about 50,000. When a node is harvested, one from the reserve replaces it a few seconds later. You can check the status of a field by walking up to the large unminable central piece and pressing E
, or by hovering over its icon on the map. Once empty, a field resets after 80-140 minutes.

Stationary Harvester (Salvage) | 4L x Petrol | 50 x Salvage | 00:00:18 |
Stationary Harvester (Salvage) (Excavator) | 6L x Petrol | 15 x Salvage | 00:00:18 |
Uses
Refinery
It can be refined into Basic Materials, Explosive Powder, or Diesel at a Refinery.
Materials Factory
A Materials Factory is used to produce Construction Materials, Maintenance Supplies, and other items.
Storage
It stacks up to 100 per slot in inventories. It can be stored in the stockpiles of Bases (32k max), Resource Containers (5k), Resource Transfer Stations (15k), and Resource Ship (95k).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots, but is most commonly transported by normal Trucks, Resource Trucks, Small Container Car, Resource Ship], or shipping vehicles carrying Resource Containers.
Tips
- Due to Salvage being used in a lot of things in the game, it is important to constantly harvest them in order to help out your faction in the long-term
- Depending on the product and its refinement rate (either in a Refinery or a Facility) it is more transport-efficient to refine it, then transport the goods, rather than shipping the raw resource
