The Venom RPG launcher fires anti-tank charges. Its simple design makes it easy to deploy, even in high-stakes operations.
In-game description

The Venom c.II 35 (simply known as a Venom) is a Colonial Anti-Tank RPG that fires AP⧸RPGs.

Uses

Specifications

  • It fires an AP⧸RPG that travels at a speed of 32 m/s and is affected by gravity. The projectile detonates on impact or past 29m which is the launcher's maximum range.
  • By default the projectile's explosion deals 550 Armour Piercing damage at its center and decreasing amounts in a 2m radius. It is meant to be used on armored vehicles and deals great damage against them but it can also deal moderate damage against structures if need be.
  • Unlike the Bane 45, it can be fired from a standing position without solid cover.
  • Wielding the launcher slows down the player.
  • Due to the weight of the weapon and projectiles, which cannot be reduced by any colonial uniform, the player can only carry the Venom itself and 3 projectiles without being overencumbered.
  • It deals the same damage amount and has the same armor penetration chance as the Bane 45.

Usage

Aiming:
RPG launcher aim behaves like firearms, your actual aim point hovers at a fixed height above your cursor when placed on a flat surface. However the shell fired is affected by gravity and follows a slightly curved downward trajectory which is represented by the white aim line. The RPG launchers are perfectly accurate (no crosshair) and the projectile will explode exactly where the white aim line becomes red. If the projectile reaches the launcher's max range it automatically explodes in the air.

To make use of the maximum range of the RPG launcher you must often aim at a high point rather than at the ground. However, given the Venom's relatively short maximum range the difference is minimal (about 1 or 2 meters) so you don't have to worry too much about maximizing your range. When firing at structures from a short distance you should not aim at the top of the structure because your actual aim point will be a fixed height above it so your shell risks flying over the structure.

Storage

The Venom c.II 35 does not stack in inventories.

It can be stored in Base stockpiles.

Venom c.II 35 crates can be stored in the stockpile of a Storage Depot, Seaport, or Storage Ship. Crates can be submitted to any stockpile that accept Venom c.II 35s to transfer their content into it.

Tactic

Like with other RPG launchers, the user is vulnerable as they do not have a primary weapon to fight enemy soldiers. This is why you should have one or two soldiers with firearms protecting you that will also carry additional shells for you. The Venom has a shorter range than the Bane, making it much more tricky to use safely. It is is especially devastating at night against armored vehicles.

To conserve your mobility and to not become a high priority target, it is recommended to move with your secondary equipped and to only draw the Venom just before use.

Trivia

  • The design and icon of the Venom c.II 35 appear to be based off the American M1A1 "Bazooka" rocket launcher, with some design tweaks.
