The Ahti Model 2 is a Warden Pistol that is the default weapon for any fresh Warden player spawn. It uses 8mm ammo.

Description

It is a Warden 8mm secondary weapon with medium damage (30-45 Light Kinetic), short range (14m effective, 40m max), decent fire rate (80 rounds/min), light weight (25), and a 8-round magazine. It has a low recoil and decent accuracy. It also loses little stability from movement, allowing it to be fired accurately even on the move and without cover and rarely miss at short range. The gun kills in 3 shots in most cases. It has the exact same stats as its Colonial counterpart.

As a secondary weapon, it can be drawn and aimed quickly even when low on Stamina.

The Soldier Uniform reduces the gun's weight by 25%.

It does not stack in the player's inventory (1 per slot).

Production

This weapon is not available for production. Warden players will spawn with one equipped and two 8mm magazines in their backpack. As a result, pistol ammo is plentiful compared to other weapon types.

Storage

It does not stack in structure or vehicle inventories (1 per slot).It can only be stored in the stockpile of Bases (32k max).

Tactics

The Ahti Model 2's rapid accuracy recovery makes it a better choice than certain slow firing rifle, like the No.2 Loughcaster, for close quarter combat if a Bayonet is unavailable.

The rapid accuracy recovery means you can walk without aiming and not lose accuracy. Even if you sprint and move around, the recovery is such that you'll be back to a decent accuracy within moments. All this means the gun is great for fast paced close quarter combat. It is still going to be outgunned by SMGs however.

Remember to reload the pistol each time you respawn, as it will always start out unloaded.

Trivia

Prior to the Ahti's addition in Update 0.47, Warden players would spawn with a Ferro 879.
According to the gun's description, the gun is of Nevish design. The Nevish from a lore perspective are heavily inspired by Sweden. The Swedish military adopted the Lahti L-35 in 1940 known as the Husqvarna M40 pistol or officially as the "Pistol m/40". This, combined with it's physical resemblance to the Lahti, is the most likely inspiration for the Ahti Model 2 although it is possible there could be other influences to the gun such as the Japanese Nambu series of pistols.
The lore developer and writer of Foxhole, Matt, has stated that development of the gun from a developer perspective was done in parallel. This meant that Matt had not seen the concept for the gun before writing it. The word similarity between "Ahti" and "Lahti" was a "funny accident that was kept in".^[1]
The pistol also shares its name with a character from old Finnish mythos. The character is often described as a fierce seagoing warrior. The word "Ahti" may also be related to "Ahto" which is a Finnish sea god.
