This mounted anti-tank rifle boasts improved accuracy over its free-standing counterparts. The Typhon was specifically designed with shock absorption in mind, allowing for faster, more consistent firing patterns."
In-game description

The “Typhon” ra.XII (also known as a Typhon, or MATR) is the Colonial Mounted Anti-Tank Rifle. It fires high-velocity 20mm rounds, which are effective against armored vehicles.

Specifications

  • It has a high-velocity barrel that deals 20% more damage than Anti-Tank Rifles and can be fired in automatic albeit at a slow fire rate of 66 rounds per minute.
  • It has a 10-round magazine.
  • It's not very accurate and suffers from heavy recoil, so much that firing long bursts is only efficient with close range targets.
  • It excels against armored vehicles.
  • It is a Large Item carried on the shoulder that must be mounted on a Deployed Tripod or certain vehicles to be used. When mounted its mount receives a dedicated ammo slot that can hold 15 20mm magazines. Its firing arc is limited to 90 degrees and depends on the mount's direction.

Use

To mount it press B then aim at the mount and press LMB.

Press Q to operate the gun (crouching might be required for low-height deployed tripods).

To reload, a magazine needs to be either in the mount's inventory or in the shooter's backpack (priority for backpack if both).

To remove it from its mount, open up the mount's menu with E and click the "Detach Tripod Weapon" button BtDisassembleTripod.png (located in the bottom right corner).

“Typhon” ra.XII in Facility personal orders can be retrieved as reservable crates from a logistics vehicle with RMB > "Retrieve as crate" (5 per crate).

Storage

It does not stack in structure or vehicle inventories (1 per slot). It can be stored in the stockpile of Bases (32k max) but also in Material Pallets (120), Material Transfer Stations (1000), Rooster - Tumblebox Trailer (32), and Small Flatbed Car (100).
It can't be packed into crates.
Crates of “Typhon” ra.XII can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content. The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).

It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots. However it is much more efficient to transport it in bulk amounts as crates, either delivering them to a Base's stockpile with a Truck or to a crate stockpile with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers.

Tactics

The “Typhon” ra.XII is a powerful anti-tank rifle capable of quickly disabling, or outright destroying armored cars and half-tracks. However, due to it being a large item, it requires a mount, either a tripod or a vehicle mount, in order to be fired. Due to its ammunition, it is well-suited for attacking enemy subsystems, such as tracks, which can reduce the enemy's movement speed.

Due to its rather immobile nature, it is important to place them in defensive spots, where line-of-sight to targets are unobstructed, but can be rather difficult to be fired upon. This is somewhat difficult to do, as it is a direct-fire weapon, but placing them in trenches does help protect them.

When placed on a half-track, the immobile nature of the weapon is negated, allowing it to attack targets in any direction, as long as it can get into range. Flanking is highly recommended in order to maximize the ammo's penetration chance.

With a more effective damage type against Large Ship armor than other tripod weapons, inventory-efficient magazines instead of individual shells or grenades, and a high rate of fire, the "Typhon" ra.XII is the ideal anti-ship weapon for Gunboats.
