The Gas Mask is a utility item designed to protect the player from the deadly green ash clouds of Gas Grenades by consuming Gas Mask Filters.
Description
The Gas Mask is an equipment placed in the headgear slot that protects the player from the effect of green ash clouds by consuming Gas Mask Filters.
When equipped and loaded with a Gas Mask Filter, it grants a player complete immunity to the green ash clouds. Being inside a cloud consumes 7% of a filter every second, so staying inside the cloud for its full duration uses 77% of a filter. It starts without a filter. When equipped, it automatically loads a filter in the player's inventory if there is one. When the gas mask's current filter is depleted one of the spare filter in the player inventory is automatically consumed to replace it.
Having a Gas Mask equipped halves the player's Stamina regenaration rate.
The Player model reflects the Mask being equipped.
A tiny mask icon is displayed under the stamina bar wearing a gas mask. Its color indicates the state of the filter:
: No Filter equipped or in inventory
: Filter equipped or in inventory
: Filter equipped but less than 33% left and no spare in inventory
The state of the Gas Mask's current filter can be viewed by putting the cursor on the mask's icon in the inventory.
Usage
- Put the Gas Mask in the Headgear slot with
LMB - Check the mask has some charge left or that there's at least one Gas Mask Filter in the inventory

Storage
It does not stack in structure or vehicle inventories (1 per slot).It can only be stored in the stockpile of Bases (32k max).
Crates of Gas Mask can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content.The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots. However it is much more efficient to transport it in bulk amounts as crates, either delivering them to a Base's stockpile with a Truck or to a crate stockpile with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers.
Tactics
Despite infantry being a major target for gas grenades, it is discouraged for the average frontline infantry to wear them due to being able to die really quickly, which can rapidly deplete the valuable equipment.
The best use for gas masks would be for vehicles, like Tanks or Field Weapons. Due to these vehicles being high priority targets on the battlefield, they can easily be decrewed by spamming a ton of gas grenades on them. In order to prevent that chance from happening, it is recommended that crews have a gas mask equipped and a bunch of gas mask filters in inventory, as those can be depleted quite rapidly in certain combat scenarios.
