Components
“ | Components that can be salvaged into Refined Materials at a Refinery | „ |
— In-game description |
Components (also known as Comps) are a type of rare raw resource that is refined to create higher tier materials.
Acquisition
Component Field
Component nodes at a Component Field can be mined with a Sledge Hammer or in bulk with a Harvester. Each field starts with 30 nodes spawned on the ground, and 167 more in reserve. Each node yields around 154 Components, meaning that each field contains about 30,000. When a node is harvested, one from the reserve replaces it a few seconds later. You can check the status of a field by walking up to the large unminable central piece and pressing E
, or by hovering over its icon on the map. Once empty, a field resets after a few hours.

Storage
It stacks up to 100 per slot in inventories. It can be stored in the stockpiles of Bases (32k max), Resource Containers (5k), Resource Transfer Stations (15k), and Resource Ships (95k).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots, but is most commonly transported by normal Trucks, Resource Trucks, Small Container Car, Resource Ship, or shipping vehicles carrying Resource Containers.
Tips
- Before the Sledge Hammer technology is unlocked, Stationary Harvesters and Component Mines are the only way to get components
- Petrol is required to power Stationary Harvesters (1L for 1.5 component). If used on Component Mines, the yield is much better (1L for 27-30 components)
- After Sledge Hammers are unlocked and before Tier 2 Facilities is unlocked, the use of the Stationary Harvesters on fields is highly inefficient (sledgehammers are faster, can produce more, and don't require Petrol). But if Petrol is abundant and easy to transport to the Component Field, it can be used to collect the components faster (i.e, deplete the field faster).
- This also applies to when Harvesters are unlocked, as it is more efficient way to collect resources, even with its added fuel cost (Diesel being the cheapest)
- After Tier 2 Facilities are unlocked, Stationary Harvesters should be used to produce Damaged Components (which can be converted in a Metalworks Factory with a Recycler upgrade)
- Their yield with this option is even lower (5L for 1 component), but the components can be constantly produced as they do not deplete the field (giving it 24 hr production capabilities).
