Trivia

  • As 7.92mm ammunition in Foxhole is used in both vehicle-mounted light machine guns and storm rifles, it appears to represent two different real-world equivalent ammunition sizes despite having a uniform damage profile.
    • 7.92x33mm Kurz was the world's first mass-produced intermediate cartridge, developed in Germany for use in experimental assault rifles. Meant to be a compromise round for a more flexible weapon, it was much shorter than standard rifle cartridges but still longer and more powerful than the pistol calibers used in SMGs, allowing it to retain accuracy and range while also making fully automatic fire from a light weapon easier to control. This is the same niche occupied by Foxhole's Storm Rifles.
    • During the period of time from which Foxhole draws inspiration, most armies used the same ammunition in their infantry rifles and their machine guns, usually something close to 7.62mm. However, Foxhole's vehicle-mounted light machine guns do not use 7.62mm or 12.7mm for game balance reasons, so 7.92mm is employed instead. These guns can include greater effective ranges and significantly wider magazine models than Storm Rifles, implying a longer cartridge.
