The Bomastone Grenade is the Colonial fragmentation Grenade.
Description
The Bomastone Grenade is a Colonial tertiary weapon that is thrown by hand at a range of up to 17 meters and at a rate of 24 per minute. It is almost perfectly accurate and stable. It has a 4 second fuze afterwards. The explosion deals 125 Shrapnel damage at the point of impact and decreasing amounts in a 6.5m radius.
It is a strictly anti-infantry grenade. It deals no damage to Structures and mediocre amounts to even unarmored Vehicles. Infantry inside structures or unexposed vehicle seats can't be hurt by it.
It does not stack in the player's inventory (1 per slot) except when wearing a Colonial Grenade Uniform (stacks of 2 per slot)
Its weight is reduced by 25% with a Colonial Grenade Uniform.
Usage
Throwing the grenade:
- Hold down
RMBto aim. The grenade's trajectory becomes visible. - Press
LMBto throw it.LMBcan be held to start the fuze then released to throw the grenade so it explodes earlier. If held too long the grenade explodes in the player's hand! - After the throw, if a grenade of the same type exists in the player's backpack, it is automatically equipped.

Storage
It does not stack in structure or vehicle inventories (1 per slot).It can only be stored in the stockpile of Bases (32k max).
Crates of Bomastone Grenade can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content.The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots. However it is much more efficient to transport it in bulk amounts as crates, either delivering them to a Base's stockpile with a Truck or to a crate stockpile with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers.
Trivia
- The design and icon of the Bomastone Grenade appear to be based off the German Stielhandgranate series of grenades.
- Prior to Update 1.52, when the Bomastone Grenade was equipped, it would use the same model as the A3 Harpa Fragmentation Grenade. This was changed so the player model now correctly holds a Bombastone Grenade when it is equipped and thrown.
