— In-game description |
40mm is a type of Shell used by many cannons and useful against both structures and vehicles.
Uses
Specifications
It travels instantly and in a straight line.
It explodes on contact or if it reaches the maximum range of the cannon firing it.
By default its explosion deals 600 Explosive damage at its center and decreasing amounts in a 2m radius.
It's effective against most structures but much less against very resistant ones.
It is effective against armored vehicles, however it needs to penetrate the armor in order to deal its damage. It can disable their subsystems.
It is very expensive and thus not cost-effective to use against infantry.
Users
The following infantry weapons, vehicles, and structures use 40mm:
Production
Structure | Input(s) | Output | Time |
---|---|---|---|
Factory (Heavy Ammunition) | 160 x Basic Materials 120 x Explosive Materials |
Crate of 20 x 40mm | 00:03:20 |
Mass Production Factory (Heavy Ammunition) | 160 x Basic Materials 120 x Explosive Materials |
Crate of 20 x 40mm | 00:33:20 |
Due to its high cost, it is recommended to use the MPF whenever possible to produce 40mm shells, as it saves explosive materials
Storage
40mm does not stack in inventories (1 per slot) except in ammo slots dedicated to 40mm in certain vehicle or structure inventories (varying stack sizes).
It can be stored in Base stockpiles.
40mm crates can be stored in the stockpile of a Storage Depot, Seaport, or Storage Ship. Crates can be submitted to a Base to transfer the 40mm inside into the stockpile.
