— In-game description |
Soldier Supplies (a.k.a "Shirts" or "SS") is an important item stored in a Base's stockpile to serve as a respawn ticket for players.
Uses
Soldier Supplies are used to respawn players at a base. One supply is consumed per respawn. You cannot respawn at a base if its stockpile doesn't have any Soldier Supplies left; for this reason, a steady input of Soldier Supplies is important to the defense of any base. Alongside Basic Materials, Soldier Supplies are considered the most critical items for the survival of a siege, and must be stockpiled in large numbers or delivered regularly to keep a front active. Despite its shirt icon, the soldier supplies are NOT a uniform and must NOT be picked up by soldiers; they should always remain in a base stockpile.
Deployment to a base from the Home Region doesn't consume Soldier Supplies and is not affected by a lack of Soldier Supplies.
When a player respawns, a single Soldier Supply is consumed, with the player respawning equipped with a Uniform, a Hammer, an empty pistol of the respawning soldier's faction, and two clips of 8mm ammunition; the standard loadout of a fresh spawn.
Unlike most items, Soldiers Supplies in a base's stockpile are deleted when the base is captured (same as Maintenance Supplies). This means any new base captured must have Soldier Supplies delivered in order for a new forward base to be spawned at. However, unlike uniforms, Soldier Supplies are faction-neutral items and can be captured while in transit.
Production
Structure | Input(s) | Output | Time |
---|---|---|---|
Factory (Medical) | 80 x Basic Materials | Crate of 10 x Soldier Supplies | 00:01:20 |
Field Hospital | 1 x Critically Wounded Soldier | 5 x Soldier Supplies | 00:10:00 |
Hospital | 1 x Critically Wounded Soldier | 5 x Soldier Supplies | 00:10:00 |
Each Critically Wounded Soldier submitted to a Field Hospital or a Hospital is processed independently. This method is pretty slow, and will not match the rate of casualties at a front.
Storage
It stacks up to 100 per slot in inventories. It can be stored in the stockpiles of Bases (32k max).
Crates of Soldier Supplies can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content. The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots, but is most commonly transported by Trucks. For long distances, it is much more efficient to transport it in bulk amounts as crates with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers and submit them to a crate stockpile.
Tactics
- Due to the extreme importance of Soldier Supplies, they should NOT be removed out of a base's stockpile, with certain exceptions
- In terms of the resources to make them, it is more transport-efficient to gather the materials and make them at a Factory closer to the frontlines
- While this may seem more efficient, this largely depends on where the nearest factories are, and how much driving you want to do
- 95% of the time, making them at a Logi Hub is way more beneficial to the whole faction than moving materials to a midline-factory
Trivia
- If a base has fewer than 100 Soldier Supplies in its stockpile, the rest cannot be removed from the stockpile (an anti-griefing mechanic)
- Despite being incapable of spawning soldiers, captured Seaports and Storage Depots will also delete any 'Supplies' crates (such as Soldier Supplies or Maintenance Supplies) within them
- Although being classified as 'Supplies,' (similar to Maintenance Supplies) the actual item can only be found in the 'Medical' category in a Stockpile
