This article is considered accurate for the current version (1.60) of Foxhole.
The Blakerow is a carbine with a high rate of fire compared to its bolt-action predecessor. This increased fire rate does come at the cost of innate stopping power; however, its versatility and lightweight frame more than make up for any perceived shortcomings.
In-game description

The Blakerow 871 (simply known as a Blakerow) is a Warden 7.62mm semi-automatic rifle. It is best suited to short and mid-range engagements.

Description

It is a Warden 7.62mm semi-automatic primary weapon with medium-high damage (39-58 SubtypeSBIcon.png), medium-to-long range (25m effective, 40m max), good fire rate (112.5 rounds/min), and 15-round magazine. It is particularly lightweight (75). It has decent accuracy and medium recoil. It loses less stability from movements than most rifles but is still best fired from a stable position. It typically kills players in three hits, with two shot kills being possible (40% chance). Compared to the No.2 Loughcaster, its lower damage, lower accuracy, and lower effective range makes it struggle at long ranges. However its high fire rate, fast reload, and larger magazine gives it more firepower at medium ranges.

It can equip a Bayonet or Ospreay launcher

The Soldier Uniform reduces its weight by 25%.

It does not stack in the player's inventory (1 per slot).

Mass Production Factory orders must have at least 3 crates.

Storage

It does not stack in structure or vehicle inventories (1 per slot). It can only be stored in the stockpile of Bases (32k max).
Crates of Blakerow 871 can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content. The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots. However it is much more efficient to transport it in bulk amounts as crates, either delivering them to a Base's stockpile with a Truck or to a crate stockpile with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers.

Tactics

The Blakerow 871 operates well in medium ranges and occupies the gap between the Loughcaster rifle and the Fiddler SMG. The carbine's high rate of fire allows it to remain competitive in close quarters fights against dedicated short range weapons, like Submachine Guns. Its light weight and ability to use a Bayonet increases its close range combat effectiveness significantly.

At longer rangest it struggles against other rifles. A stable position with good cover and firing slowly are recommended.

Trivia

  • The number "871" may refer to the weapon's year of invention, or its year of introduction into Warden forces. This naming convention is shared with other warden weapons.
  • Prior to the introduction of faction specific small arms in Update 0.42 the Blakerow was also used by the Colonials, and was referred to simply as a "Carbine". Additionally, it used a separate type of ammo, known as "7.62mm Carbine". Its stats were otherwise identical.
  • The Blakerow 871 appears to be based on the American M1 Carbine.
