In-game description

The Abisme AT-99 (a.k.a. "AT Mine" or "Land Mine") is a large deployable Explosive Charge that serves as an Anti-Tank Mine.

Description

The Abisme AT-99 is a large explosive that is deployed on the ground in a 4s animation and only detonates on contact with the following armored vehicles, enemy or friendly: Armoured Car, Tankette, Landing APC, Half-track, and Tanks. The explosion deals 850 Anti-Tank Explosive damage. It cannot be deflected by Tank Armor and always disables the tracks subsystem. As a Large Item, the player can only carry one in their large item slot, occupying their hands.

It is designed primarily as an anti-armored vehicle defensive tool to kill them or prevent them from accessing an area.

It can be deployed on nearly any terrain, on dry Beaches, on Bridges, on Roads and paved areas. It can't be deployed on rocks, on top of or inside structures, or in the no-build zone near region borders. It can't be placed less than 2m from another mine.

When deployed it is visible to all soldiers on foot. Vehicle crewmembers and passengers can see friendly mines as well as enemy mines placed on roads, but enemy mines placed offroad are invisible to them. So it is advisable to have someone on foot scouting for mines if moving into a new area. They aren't concealed by the night's obscurity or when placed in bushes (will show colored outline).

A deployed mine can be dismantled by crouching and using a Wrench. Enemy mines can also be dismantled using a Harvester. It is instantly destroyed if it receives any amount of Demolition or High Explosive damage. It is immune to any other kind of damage. It despawns after 48 hours if it isn't triggered, even when placed in Rapid Decay Zones.

Instead of being deployed, it can also be used as materials to upgrade a Prepared Minefield into a Abisme AT-99 Minefield.

Usage

Large Item Handling
It can be picked up from the ground with V and dropped on the ground with V (or Shift+V if another "V" interaction is available). It can be submitted to a structure/vehicle's stockpile or inventory with V or by clicking the "Submit Large Item" BtSubmitLargeItem.png button in their interface. It can be retrieved from a Material Pallet, Rooster - Tumblebox, or Storage Room by pressing V without having to open their interface. It is automatically dropped if the player draws a weapon or equipment.

Deploying the mine
In order to deploy the mine:

  1. Equip the mine
  2. Press B to get into placement mode
  3. Press LMB on a valid location
  4. After a 4s deployment animation that immobilizes the player the mine is deployed
  5. The mine becomes active 3 seconds after being deployed (any targetable vehicle in the detection radius can only trigger it if they leave the detection radius and enters it back)

Dismantling a deployed mine with Wrench

  1. Equip a Wrench by pressing 1
  2. Crouch next to the mine with C
  3. Press LMB to start the dismantling animation
  4. After a 10s animation that immobilizes the player the mine is deleted

Individual Abisme AT-99 in Facility personal orders can be retrieved as crates from a logistics vehicle with RMB > "Retrieve as crate" (10 per crate).

Storage

It does not stack in inventories (1 per slot).
It can be stored in the stockpile of Bases (32k max) but also in Material Pallets (60), Material Transfer Stations (1000), Rooster - Tumblebox Trailer (32), Small Flatbed Car (50), or Storage Rooms (100).
Crates of Abisme AT-99 can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content. The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 100 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots, but is most commonly transported by Trucks, Small Flatbed Car, or shipping vehicles carrying Material Pallets. It can also be transported as crates, either delivering them to a Base's stockpile with a Truck or to a crate stockpile with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers.

Trivia

  • If multiple players deploy mines at the same time it is possible to place some mines very close together, bypassing their distance restriction
  • A couple vehicles (Landing APCs, Silverhand Lordscar - Mk. X) have open-top seats close enough to the ground that a mine can occasionally kill the crew or passengers
  • The Abisme appears to be visually similar to the German Tellermine 42, taking inspiration from its fuse, carry handle and overall shape.[1]
  • Possibly due to a bug, there is a small chance for the detonation of a mine to not affect the vehicle triggering it.
  • "Abisme" is the Catalan superlative inflection of the Grecian conjugate “Abyss". Which translates as "A field of craters".
    • The use of Catalan suggests the AT-99 originates from Estrella. Explaining its use by both factions.
