In-game description

A Wounded Player is a Large Item that represents a live player that has been wounded.

Description

A Wounded Player is a large medical item visible only in the player's inventory when carrying a player that's been wounded.

A friendly or enemy player wounded on the ground can be picked up and carried by another player in their large item slot, occupying their hands. While carried, the wounded player's death timer is paused and they can choose to succumb by pressing E which sends them to the respawn menu. They cannot be carried if they are overencumbered. They are automatically dropped if the carrier draws a weapon or equipment, tries to swim, runs out of stamina, or is knocked over. The carrier can vault obstacles without dropping them.

A Wounded Player can be distinguished from Critically Wounded Soldiers by its bloody look and visible gear, its periodic animation when on the ground, and the player name tag above it.

Whenever a Wounded Player dies or gives up, there's approximately a 40% chance that a Critically Wounded Soldier will spawn on the ground instead of a corpse. This doesn't occur if the wounded player is hit during their initial animation of falling to the ground, if they were downed by an ally, or if they are hit by anything that sends their corpse flying (explosives, shotgun, etc...).

Usage

  1. Pick up the Wounded Player by pressing E.
  2. Move to a safer place and find a medic
  3. Drop the Wounded Player by drawing any equipment or by pressing Shift+V
  4. Let the medic revive them using a Trauma Kit with Blood Plasma.

Production

Whenever a player is bleeding or is hit by Light Kinetic, Heavy Kinetic, Anti-Tank Kinetic or Shrapnel damage and their health gets below 0 HP they become wounded. A soldier dies instead of becoming wounded if they are downed while vaulting or using a ladder. They also die if they are manning a weapon mounted on a vehicle or structure.

Storage

It cannot be stored in any stockpile or inventory except a player's large item slot.
