A large shipping vessel, the Aquatipper is used to transport vehicles, equipment, and personnel over large bodies of water.
In-game description

The BMS - Aquatipper (also known as a Barge) is a large, faction-neutral logistical Naval Vehicle with a deployable ramp. It is designed to be an all-purpose logistics vehicle, capable of moving cargo, equipment, and personnel to various locations.

General Info

Crew

The BMS - Aquatipper holds six passengers, and houses a crew of one soldier:

  • Driver (Seat 1)
    • Controls the movement of the vehicle, and can see the remaining fuel in the vehicle
    • Interacts with nearby structures - press E or Shift + E
    • Activates horn sound - press LMB
    • Able to deploy/undeploy the ramp - press F
    • Can open/close Bridges - press E

Ship Deck:

Additionally, up to 6 soldiers can be on the Barge deck and move around. They can access the Barge's inventory. The Barge cannot move if there are more than 6 passengers, or if any of them is overencumbered. The passengers can vault out of the vehicle but only when it's not moving.

Armament

The BMS - Aquatipper possesses no armament.

The soldiers on the deck can use their own weapons but are restricted from using heavy weapons such as AT RPGs, Cutler Launchers, Grenade Launchers, Sniper Rifles, and handheld 12.7mm machine guns when the ramp isn't deployed.

Inventory

It has 15 inventory slots that can hold any item.

Items can be dropped on the deck and the ship can still move with dropped items on its deck. If not picked up for 5 minutes they are automatically submitted to the ship's inventory or deleted if no space is available.

Engine & Mobility

  • Fuel Tank: 200 L of Diesel or Petrol
  • Fuel Consumption Rate (on water): 3L / min (Autonomy: 66:40 min)
  • Speed (on water): 10.7 knots (5.5 m/s)
  • Can move on water without fuel, or when disabled, but at drastically reduced speed
  • Can ram and instantly destroy Field Bridges over water
  • Unable to move or undeploy its ramp if there are more than six Passengers or if one is overencumbered.
  • A 180° turn will take 12 seconds, no matter the direction of travel or use of handbrake, while using Petrol.

Interactions

The BMS - Aquatipper can be interacted in a few ways:

  • Its ramp can only be lowered at coastal beaches, Shipyard (except if destroyed), Offshore Platform, Dry Dock, docks, at the end of Navy Piers, and on Seaport docks
  • Open/Close Drawbridge (when next to it): E
  • One medium or large Shippable can be placed on the Barge
    • Must be loaded/offloaded with a Crane - the player must have access to the Barge
    • The shippable on the barge can't be unpackaged or interacted with at all. It's visible on the deck but is not really there, shooting it only damages the barge.
  • Vehicles can also be parked on the Barge.
    • It can carry all land vehicle types except those that are too long (Transport Bus, Flatbed Truck, Heavy-Duty Truck, Super Tanks).
    • Only one vehicle can be carried at a time except for smaller vehicles like Motorcycles, Bicycles, LUVs and Field Weapons.
    • When the ramp is up, the vehicles on the barge cannot be entered and cannot use their weapons or special ability (e.g. Crane), but their inventory can still be accessed.
    • Deployable vehicles (e.g. Crane) cannot deploy on a Barge even when the ramp is lowered (prevents transport of Extra Large Shippable with a Crane on the Barge).
    • If you have trouble accessing the vehicle transported in the barge, due to space constraints, you can press Shift + E near the pole (back of barge) and select Enter Cargo Vehicle.
  • Can interact with most structures in proximity - press E or Shift + E
    • Can pull three times the normal amount from stockpiles - press Shift + LMB
It is automatically deleted after 36 hours if left unused.

Storage & Transport

The BMS - Aquatipper can be stored in a Seaport.

Tactics

It can carry up to 6 players, any more and the barge won't be able to move. It also won't move if one of the player is overencumbered. Players on the barge cannot fire heavy weapons (Machine Guns, Mortars, Anti-Tank Rifles, RPGs, etc...) unless the ramp is lowered.

The barge is a versatile vehicle. It can be used:

  • with a Resource Container to transport raw resources from a Resource Field or Resource Mine to a Refinery, as long as both are close to a beach, seaport, or shipyard.
  • with a Shipping Container or Shippable Crate and 15 crates in its inventory to deliver supplies to a Seaport.
  • with a Material Pallet, or Emplacement and 15 crates in its inventory to deliver supplies directly to the front as long as there's a place to dock and a crane at the destination.
  • to ambush enemy logistics (freighters, barges) deep in the enemy's backline rivers, using infantry on the deck armed with Anti-Tank Sticky Bombs.
  • to transport a recon or offensive vehicle to a beach deep in the enemy's backline to destroy and harass ground logistics. One barge can carry two Light Utility Vehicles for example.
  • to assault an enemy position on the coast. The barge is fairly resistant and although the infantry on deck can't use heavy weapons they can still throw all types of grenades and fire small arms.
  • to hunt enemy gunboats, using infantry with Sticky Bombs.

Trivia

  • Barges will disappear after 72 hours if no one enters the Driver's seat
    • Entering it will reset the timer
  • The Barge was added in the Update 0.4 (also known as the 'Amphibious Warfare' Update)
    • Originally, it did not possess a horn, however this was later added in Update 0.48
