In-game description

The Flood Mk. IX Stain is a late-game Warden Battle Tank and a type of SPG. It is equipped with a 150mm artillery cannon, which can bombard enemy defensive structures from long distances.

General Info

Crew

The Flood Mk. I houses a crew of four soldiers:

  • Driver (Seat 1, Front)
    • Controls the movement of the vehicle, and can see the remaining fuel in the tank
    • Able to deploy/undeploy the vehicle - press F
    • Controls the azimuth of the Battle Tank - must move the entire vehicle
  • Cannoneer (Gunner) (Seat 2, Rear)
    • Fires the 150mm main cannon.
    • Uses the Mouse Scroll Wheel to adjust the firing distance
  • Passenger (Seat 3, Rear)
    • Can't do anything
  • Engineer (Seat 4, Rear)
    • Reloads the main cannon by pressing R
    • Can repair the vehicle from the inside using E, each repair action takes 3 seconds and consumes 3 Basic Materials from the player's inventory
    • Capable of seeing the health of the Tank, as well as how many shells remaining inside the inventory

NOTE: Players cannot switch between front and rear seats.

Armament

The Flood Mk. IX Stain is equipped with one main armament:

  • 150mm Heavy Artillery Cannon
    • Mounted on the chassis (cannot rotate)
    • Ammo Used: 150mm
    • Range: 120-250 meters
    • Reload Duration: 3 seconds
    • Firing Duration: 3 seconds
    • Fire Rate: 20 per minute
    • Vehicle must be deployed to fire
    • Accuracy: 25m radius at minimum range up to 35m at max range (not including Wind effect)

Inventory

It has one dedicated ammo slot, which can hold 3 150mm shells.

Health & Armor

The Flood Mk. IX Stain has 4800 HP and is disabled under 30% health. It has "Heavy Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire, shrapnel, and 12.7mm machine guns, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. But heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry are a real threat to it.
It has subsystems that have a chance to be disabled by heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry if hit specifically: Tracks: 35% (Anti-Tank Mines always disable them), Fuel Tank: 25%, Turret/Cannon: 35%.
It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 25% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle, or with ammo that has penetration bonuses.
It takes 220 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health, subsystems, and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.

Storage & Transport

The Flood Mk. IX Stain cannot be stored in a Storage Depot, Seaport or Storage Ship.

It can be packaged into a large Shippable and transported only by certain Shipping Vehicles (Barge, Freighter, Storage Ship, Flatbed Car, or Large Crane).

Tactics

Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and at least one Filter to avoid dying to Gas Grenades. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the SPG. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.

The high rate of fire of SPGs make them a powerful tool for suppressing enemy pushes, and their high resilience to counterbattery makes them especially useful for sieging concrete bunkers with howitzer garrisons.

Due to their outstandingly high price and significance, SPGs are a high-value target on the battlefield. To prevent enemy infantry or tanks from destroying them, more effort should be put into preparing defenses around them than other artillery guns.

Tips

  • Like all vehicles that use large shells, they can be quickly submitted into them without accessing their inventory
    • While this can be done for all vehicles, it should only be done if they can carry/use large items
  1. Equip the shell and walk up to the vehicle
  2. Submit the shell into the vehicle - press V

Trivia

  • The Flood Mk. IX Stain is the first Warden vehicle that has its engine in the front, which makes it more vulnerable to fuel leaks if it's attacked from the front. This is only seen in one other vehicle, which is the Colonial H-10 “Pelekys”.
