The T3 “Xiphos” has 1250 HP and is disabled under 30% health. It has "Light Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire and shrapnel, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. It can soak 12.7mm machine gun fire but not for long. Heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry are an extremely dangerous threat to it. It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 85% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle,or with ammo that has penetration bonuses. It takes 100 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.
Due to the limitations of its caliber and armour, the T3 “Xiphos” is solely designed to combat infantry. It should only be used to support friendly soldiers by killing or suppressing enemy infantry (and unarmoured vehicles) out in the open or in cover behind passive defenses like Trenches or Sandbags. It cannot assault enemy defenses, especially with active AI, since it cannot damage structures and struggles to suppress garrisoned ones. It should also never be used against armored vehicles.
It should remain on roads because of its mediocre offroad mobility and vulnerability to AT Mines (a single one nearly disables it). It should ideally be supported by friendly infantry protecting its sides from enemies flanking with AT weapons.
Its gun has no damage falloff, allowing it to deal full damage to targets 40m away (the very end of the aiming line). Combined with the gun's large magazine and decent accuracy in short bursts it is safer to shoot enemy positions from 40m and resist the urge to unnecessarily drive closer.
Effectiveness over the Course of the War
Similar to all armored cars, the T3 “Xiphos” becomes nearly obsolete on the front line once heavier anti-tank weapons like Anti-Tank Rifles or RPGs are researched. Those weapons disable and destroy Armoured Cars too quickly and their longer range prevent the crew from reacting fast enough.
Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and a couple Filters to avoid dying to Gas Grenades after they are researched. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the vehicle. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.
Trivia
The T3 “Xiphos” appears to take heavy inspiration from the French Panhard 178
A Xiphos is a type of short sword used as a backup weapon for close quarters fighting by spearmen in ancient Greece
