The O'Brien V.101 Freeman has 1250 HP and is disabled under 30% health. It has "Light Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire and shrapnel, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. It can soak 12.7mm machine gun fire but not for long. Heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry are an extremely dangerous threat to it. It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 75% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle, or with ammo that has penetration bonuses. It takes 130 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.
The O'Brien V.101 Freeman is a lightly armored car designed to deal heavy damage to structures. In terms of mobility, it has slow off-road speed and decent on-road speed, which makes it limited to where it can effectively fight. Along with its slow-turning turret, it is better to stay on roads so the crew can react faster if they're being flanked. Additionally, due to its low health, a single anti-tank mine will nearly destroy it.
Since the 40mm main cannon is mounted at the rear of the Armored Car, you can gain a little more range by driving in reverse and rotating the turret backwards (essentially using the vehicle backwards). This method does allows for a quicker retreat, which is especially useful on a slow vehicle.
Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and multiple Filters to avoid dying to Gas Grenades. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the vehicle. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.
Depending on when the crew fields this Armored Car, these equipment may not be unlocked. If they are unlocked, the crew should equip them so they are not easily killed in combat.
Trivia
The O'Brien V.101 Freeman is directly inspired by the English Rolls-Royce Armoured Car developed during WW1
Originally, the base chassis for the O'Brien V.101 Freeman was the O'Brien V.110. This was later changed in Update 1.51 with the introduction of the O'Brien V.190 Knave, which replaced it as the base chassis.
