A heavy-duty Battle Tank with thick armour plating and destructive firepower. The Lance is fitted with a 75mm turret and a front-facing 12.7mm anti-infantry machine gun. The heavy armour limits top speed, but in exchange it can take a lot of punishment.
In-game description

The Lance-36 (also known as a Lance) is the main Colonial Battle Tank. It is equipped with a 75mm main cannon, and a hull-mounted, high velocity 12.7mm machine gun. Its most distinctive feature is it's turret, which boasts massive rivets bolted onto the turret's sides.

General Info

The Lance-36 houses a crew of five soldiers:

  • Driver (Seat 1)
    • Controls the movement of the vehicle, and can see the remaining fuel in the tank
  • Cannoneer (Gunner) (Seat 2)
    • Controls the movement and firing of the 75mm main cannon. Cannot reload the cannon from this seat
  • Secondary Gunner (Seat 3)
    • Controls the movement and firing of the hull-mounted 12.7mm machine gun
  • Commander (Seat 4)
    • Capable of directing the tank crew, as well as giving them a better overview of the battlefield
    • Can open up the cupola (hatch) by pressing E, which allows the player to use their secondary, such as a binocular
  • Engineer (Seat 5)
    • Reloads the main cannon by pressing R, and can repair the vehicle from the inside by pressing E (with Basic Materials in the player's inventory)
    • Capable of seeing the health of the Tank, as well as how many shells remaining inside the inventory

The Lance-36 is equipped with two main armaments:

  • 75mm Cannon
    • Mounted on a turret (can rotate 360 degrees, turns 16° per second)
    • Ammo Used: 75mm
    • Reload Duration: 6 seconds per projectile
    • Range: 35 meters
    • Fire Rate: 10 per minute
  • High Velocity 12.7mm Machine Gun
    • Mounted on the hull (70 degree firing arc)
    • Ammo Used: 12.7mm
    • Reload Duration: 4.5 seconds
    • Effective Range: 35 meters
    • Maximum Range: 40 meters
    • Fire Rate: 200 rounds per minute
    • High velocity barrel increases damage by 20% (66-99 damage)
    • Accuracy: pretty good
    • Stability: Loses accuracy during long bursts

It has two dedicated ammo slots, which can hold 30 12.7mm magazines and 15 75mm shells.

Health & Armor

The Lance-36 has 6250 HP and is disabled under 30% health. It has "Heavy Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire, shrapnel, and 12.7mm machine guns, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. But heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry are a real threat to it.
It has subsystems that have a chance to be disabled by heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry if hit specifically: Tracks: 30% (Anti-Tank Mines always disable them), Fuel Tank: 25%, Turret/Cannon: 25%.
It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 25% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle, or with ammo that has penetration bonuses.
It takes 200 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health, subsystems, and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.

Storage & Transport

The Lance-36 cannot be stored in a Storage Depot, Seaport or Storage Ship.

It can be packaged into a large Shippable and transported only by certain Shipping Vehicles (Barge, Freighter, Storage Ship, Flatbed Car, or Large Crane).

The Lance-36 is able to take multiple hits and should be used in an aggressive playstyle, getting in close to enemy vehicles and using its 75mm main cannon. It can also provide infantry support with its heavy machine gun. Due to the Battle Tank's production cost, it's recommended to run this tank with a full crew, and with support from infantry and other armored vehicles.

Due to the relative cost of the fuel, special care must be taken to ensure it does not run out of fuel and get stranded.

Due to the expensive cost of the vehicle, it is recommended to have a Commander, or adequate protection from other tanks and infantry so it is protected at all times.

Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and multiple Filters to avoid dying to Gas Grenades. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the tank. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.

  • Like all vehicles that use large shells, they can be quickly submitted into them without accessing their inventory
    • While this can be done for all vehicles, it should only be done if they can carry/use large items
  1. Equip the shell and walk up to the vehicle
  2. Submit the shell into the vehicle - press V

  • Prior to its reintroduction into the game in Update 1.50 ('Inferno'), the Lance-36 used to be in the game prior to Update 0.40, where it was removed for game balance concerns
    • Along with other Battle Tanks, its reintroduction to the game drastically changed how Battle Tanks are produced and used, as well as how much can be produced over time, by drastically increasing the materials/facilities needed to construct it, increasing their construction time, and the fuel needed to drive it. The shortest construction time for Battle Tanks is 18 hours, with some Battle Tank variants requiring longer times. This does not include the power consumption required to do so
  • The Lance turret seems to take inspiration from the British Cromwell tank series used during WWII and into the Cold War. Its hull is also similar to the Comet tank

Tested and iterated and meticulously designed in the heart of the Velian capital of Damokratos, the Lance is the absolute workhorse of the storied Colonial armour division. Each bolt inspected with utter perfection. Every gear carefully calibrated, greased and maintained. Additional plates of armour were added after identifying several distinct vulnerabilities. Its Weight, speed, and ballistics are designed and produced with rigorous efficiency. Despite fleeting Warden efforts to plagerise the design, there isn’t another vehicle so capable as the Lance; There isn’t another army like the Colonial Legion. Both are destined for glory.
