The UV-5c “Odyssey” (also known as an Oddy) is a Colonial Light Utility Vehicle defined by its enclosed passenger compartment. It automatically gathers and transmit Map Intelligence of its surroundings within a 60m radius.

General Info

Crew

The UV-5c “Odyssey” houses a crew of three soldiers:

• Driver (Seat 1)
  • Controls the movement of the vehicle, and can see the remaining fuel in the vehicle
  • Interacts with nearby structures - press E or Shift + E
  • Activates horn sound - press LMB
• Commander (Seat 2)
  • Capable of directing the crew, as well as giving them a better overview of the battlefield
  • Can open up the hatch by pressing E, which allows the player to use their secondary equipment
• Passenger (Seat 3)
  • Can't do anything

The UV-5c “Odyssey” is not equipped with a main armament.

Health & Armor

The UV-5c “Odyssey” has 1250 HP and is disabled under 40% health. It has "Unarmoured" resistance, even small arms fire and Flamethrowers are a danger to it.
It takes 120 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.

Interactions

• Automatically gathers Map Intelligence within 60 meter radius every few seconds and transmits it .
  • Only active when driver seat is occupied
• Can interact with most structures in proximity - press E or Shift + E
  • Can pull three times the normal amount from stockpiles - press Shift + LMB

The UV-05a “Argonaut” must be fully researched in the Vehicle Tech Tree in order to be produced.

Storage & Transport

The UV-5c “Odyssey” can be stored in a Storage Depot, Seaport or Storage Ship.

It can be packaged into a small Shippable and transported by any Shipping Vehicle (Crane, Flatbed Truck, Barge, Freighter, Storage Ship, Landing Ships, Flatbed Car, or Large Crane).

Tactics

With its decent inventory size, the odyssey can be used as a support vehicle for mechanized attacks. The commander seat helps with combat awareness.

Trivia

• The UV-5c “Odyssey” and vehicles using the UV-05a “Argonaut” chassis bear a strong resemblance to the American designed "Willys Jeep".
• During the devbranch for 1.50 Inferno, the UV-05a “Argonaut” was planned to be a variant, with the UV-5c “Odyssey” being the base chassis. This was later changed, with the Argonaut becoming the base chassis, and the Odyssey became a variant.
