Armed with a dual 75mm turret, what the “Ares” lacks in speed and versatility, it more than makes up for with raw destructive power. Development of the “Ares” was fraught with strife, and its history is intertwined with a period of several riots erupting on the streets of Dimiourg. Rebels commandeered the first “Ares” Prototype, the O-75a, and turned it against Colonial forces in the region, ultimately leading to its destruction—albeit not without great effort. This event wove the great behemoth into the tapestry of Colonial legend.

— In-game description
The O-75b "Ares" (simply known as an Ares) is the ColonialSuper Tank (SHT), which is the heaviest, and most expensive tank in the Colonial arsenal. It is equipped with a double-barrelled 75mm main cannon.
The O-75b “Ares” has 9250 HP and is disabled under 50% health. It has "Heavy Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire, shrapnel, and 12.7mm machine guns, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. But heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry are a real threat to it. It has subsystems that have a chance to be disabled by heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry if hit specifically: Tracks: 20% (Anti-Tank Mines always disable them), Fuel Tank: 15%, Turret/Cannon: 10%. It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 25% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle, or with ammo that has penetration bonuses. It takes 350 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health, subsystems, and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.
Super Tanks are currently the most expensive land vehicles in the game and take the longest time to produce. EXTREME protection is vital in making sure Super Tanks are produced and not destroyed by partisans. Due to its cost, it is highly recommended to have a Commander, or adequate protection from other tanks and infantry so it is protected at all times.
The O-75b "Ares" is a massive vehicle that capable of doing massive damage if played well. While its two main armaments allow it to out-damage most vehicles in a single engagement, it is also extremely vulnerable since its lack of anti-infantry armament and slow speed makes it incapable of defending itself, and unable to escape as quickly compared to its Warden Counterpart. As such, it is necessary to have armored escort and infantry to back it up.
Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and multiple Filters to avoid dying to Gas Grenades. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the tank. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.
Tips
Like all vehicles that use large shells, they can be quickly submitted into them without accessing their inventory
While this can be done for all vehicles, it should only be done if they can carry/use large items
Equip the shell and walk up to the vehicle
Submit the shell into the vehicle - pressV
Despite having two Engineers, its repair rate is roughly the same as its Warden Counterpart, the Cullen Predator Mk. III
Both Engineers must work together in order to efficiently repair their vehicle during combat, or risk the destruction of the vehicle
Super Tanks are automatically deleted if left unused in the world for a week.
Trivia
Super Tanks were introduced in 1.50 Inferno, and were at the time the most expensive vehicles in the game
Ares was the Greek god of courage and war. Unlike his sister Athena, who represented the strategic aspects of warfare, Ares embodies the violence and savagery of armed conflict
The devblog detailing concept art for the Inferno Update specifically mentions that the HIC was originally intended to be a colonial super unit but was deemed not "super" enough - its hull design was later reused for the Ares, with the intent of implying a common linage between the two vehicles
Prior to the official release of Inferno, the in-game description of the Ares was significantly shorter, which was later changed to the current in-game description
Old description - "Armed with a dual 75mm turret, the Ares is a lumbering beast. What it lacks in speed and versatility, it makes up for it in raw destructive power."
