The Gunboat (colloquially known as GB) is a class of small naval combat vessels with an open deck and armed with a Mortar turret (with direct/indirect fire modes) and tripod weapon mounts. They are capable of attacking defenses near coastlines and supporting land attacks, either for naval invasion, or assaults of areas close to waterways, as well as supporting large ships by providing additional firepower. They are slow to maneuver compared to land vehicles.

Trivia

Gunboats had 2 major redesigns. In their initial release in Update 0.6, gunboats were smaller and had a walkable deck ^[1]
- In 0.14 Amphibious Assault, their size was increased, their armament placement swapped, and had their open deck removed.
- In 1.54 Naval Warfare, their overall weaponry was changed, and the open deck was returned.
  - Before this redesign, Gunboats were equipped with 12.7mm and 120mm turrets. Prior to Update 0.45, the 12.7mm turret was equipped with 14.5mm. Prior to 0.42 Winter Army, the 120mm turret was equipped with the proprietary 55mm shell.
