This page covers some of the slang used in game in both text chat and voice comms. This list should help new players to understand what's going on when people talk about certain things within the game.

AC Armored Car Combat Vehicle

A lightly armored vehicle designed for frontline combat. Typically has wheels, though certain vehicles have the appearance of tank treads.

ACV Advanced Construction Vehicle Logistics Vehicle

The BMS - Fabricator. An upgraded Construction Vehicle, which is capable of constructing/deconstructing/upgrading various defenses typically done by a player with a Hammer or Shovel.

AI Artificial Intelligence A type of base upgrade that enables unmanned defenses to turn on. When a base has AI available, certain bunker defenses and buildings will be activated, allowing unmanned defenses to shoot/retaliate against enemies when they are in range.
ALUV/ AUV Amphibious Light Utility Vehicle Light Utility Vehicle

The Drummond Loscann 55c  ResourceWardensIcon.png. A Warden-exclusive LUV capable of ferrying passengers across waterways, similar to APCs and their amphibious capabilities.

Alt Alternate Account Type of Player

The term used to refer to someone's account that is not their main one.

APC Armored Personnel Carrier Armored Personnel Carrier

A Landing APC, which is a vehicle capable of traveling on land and water.

Armor Tank Armor / Vehicle Type Vehicle Armor Mechanic

A layer of protection typically for combat vehicles that can deflect incoming projectiles.
It can also be used as a catchall term for any armored vehicle, including tanks, ACs, and Half-Tracks.

Arty Artillery Artillery Weapons & Vehicles

A catchall term for weapons that use indirect fire. These include Light, Heavy, Mortars, Field Artillery and Gunboat cannons.

AT Anti-Tank Anti-Tank Weapons

Equipment that's capable of destroying an armored vehicle. These can refer to Anti-Tank Rifle, Anti-Tank RPG, Anti-Tank Sticky Bomb, and other weaponry.

ATAC Anti-Tank Armored Car Colonial Anti-Tank Armored Car

The T5 "Percutio"  ResourceColonialsIcon.png. An open-turret armored car equipped with a Anti-Tank cannon.

ATG Anti-Tank Garrison Defense Structure

The AT Gun Garrison. A Bunker Base upgrade that will attack/retaliate against armored vehicles and certain tripod weapons.

ATHT Anti-Tank Half-track Warden Anti-Tank Half-Track

The Niska Mk. 2 Blinder  ResourceWardensIcon.png. A Warden Half-track equipped with a large 68mm cannon on the back.

ATP Anti-Tank Pillbox Defense Structure

The Anti-Tank Pillbox. A defensive pillbox that only fires on armored vehicles owned by the enemy.

ATR Anti-Tank Rifle Anti-Tank Weapons

The 20 Neville Anti-Tank Rifle  ResourceWardensIcon.png. A Warden AT Rifle that shoots 20mm ammunition, which is capable of damaging lightly armored vehicles.

Baby Ballista Field Mortar Field Mortar

The Warden-exclusive Field Mortar, a two-person wheeled gun that fires 250mm shells (the same as the Colonial-exclusive Ballista tank, hence the name).

Backline Backline Location.

Refers to regions far away from the frontlines where fighting takes place

A component to build an A0E-9 Rocket at a A0E-9 Rocket Platform.

BS Battleship Combat Naval Vehicle

A battleship (either a Colonial Titan or a Warden Callahan).

BT Battle Tank Combat Vehicle

A late-game, heavily armored vehicle that is equipped with a Large Shell main cannon (either 75mm or 94.5mm).

BTD Battle Tank Destroyer Combat Vehicle

The Lance-25 “Hasta”  ResourceColonialsIcon.png. A Colonial Battle Tank equipped with a hull-mounted 94.5mm main cannon. Unlike other Battle Tanks, it is not equipped with a secondary armament.

Builder Vague Player Role A player whose primary goal is to reinforce an area with defenses, such as pillboxes, barbed wire, sandbags, walls, bunkers and trenches. They are capable of being augmented with tools that make their job easier.
CG Coastal Gun Naval Defense Structure

An AI defense that will only target vehicles in the water. Gains accuracy against a target when in closer proximity.

Front Frontlines The "front" means the area(s) of the map where majority of the hostilities are occurring between the two factions (e.g. where the other faction is trying to gain territory from the other faction).

IG Infantry Garrison Defense Structure

Refers to the Infantry Garrison bunker tech, or bunker garrisons which defend against infantry (Such as Rifle Garrisons or Machine Gun Garrisons).

A Colonial-exclusive vehicle armed with two machine guns. Similar to LUVs, it also transmits intel in a limited range when driving it.

LK Listening Kit Equipment

A tripod-mounted item that intercepts enemy intel sources when placed within 80 meters of an intelligence-gathering structure, like a Watchtower. They make extremely quiet beeping sounds.

Logi Logistics Player Role

Logi can refer to:
(a) the role of a Logistics Officer i.e. any player(s) that are mostly concentrating their efforts on transporting items around the map for other players
(b) the concentrated effort of all players doing the same (e.g. "where is logi, we need XXX here" - would not refer to any player per se, rather all the players doing deliveries).

The Mass Production Factory. A logistical structure found in the backlines that produces equipment and vehicles in larger quantities at a discounted price.

Maintenance Supplies. Consumable supplies used to prevent the decay of player-made structures

MTS Material Transfer Station Facility Structure

A facility building that stores most types of large items, such as facility materials and artillery shells.

Nade Grenade Throwables

Refers to either a Frag Grenade / High Explosive Grenade / Green Ash.

Node Resource Node Resource

A small, harvestable resource pile that usually spawn on Resource Fields (ex: Salvage node, etc).

Noot Neutral Player Role

A Neutral player or Regiment (also known as a Clan) that typically switches between the two factions intermediately. Does not hold much loyalty to any particular faction.

Nebelwerfer Field Launcher Field Launcher

The Rycker 4/3-F Wasp Nest  ResourceWardensIcon.png. It is nicknamed this due to its similarity to the real world Nebelwerfer rocket artillery.

Nuke Ballistic Rocket A0E-9 Rocket

An [[A0E-9 Rocket] that is launched by players from a A0E-9 Rocket Platform, which is capable of permanently destroying anything within an 80 meter radius of the impact point. The Rocket does not contain radioactive material, meaning the impact area can be entered without any special equipment.

OBS / Obs Observation Tower/Observation Bunker Intel Structure

Refers to the Observation Tower or the Observation Bunker.

The observation bunker gathers intelligence in a radius of up to 216 meters depending on tier and garrison modifications, if it is powered by an Engine Room. It allows players inside it to see up to 230 meters away regardless of tier or power. It can only be built on bunkers that are connected to a bunker base with the Observation Bunkers ObservationBunkerT3ItemIcon.png upgrade.

The observation tower is a world structure that gathers intelligence in a 30° arc and 500m radius. It can be entered and rotated by any player of the faction that built it.

OCDT Syndrome Officer Cadet Syndrome Player Stereotype

A player, who considers their current knowledge and plans immune to scrutiny, while ignoring/dismissing input from other sources. The motive for doing so is open to interpretation. Example: A player drives a Flatbed with a Shipping Container towards a bunker. Despite strong suggestions from others, the player exclaims, "I'm going to supply that bunker with 60 crates!"

Octagon Trench Emplacement Trench

An octagonal trench in which Emplaced Weapons can be placed using a crane. While in a trench, emplaced weapons have quadrupled health and doubled rotation speed, but are destroyed if the trench is destroyed.

Partisan Player Role Player actions occurring outside of friendly territory. These actions may disrupt, delay, or destroy opposing factions efforts and assets. As well as, intelligence gathering (Ex. Listening Kit deployment).

Processed Construction Materials

Printing Manufacturing Producing a vehicle or shippable in a facility building such as a Small Assembly Station or a Dry Dock, so named for the animation resembling the operation of a 3D printer.
Proto Prototype vehicle Vehicle

Prototype vehicle produced with a Prototype Kit.

Push Tactic A concentrated attack, with the intent/effect of gaining territory (either quickly, or gradually).
QRF Quick Response Force / Quick Reaction Force Player/Team Role

Quickly-formed team(s) of players with the sole goal of responding to potential invasions, enemy Partisans or scouts. They are the first line of defense for any hostile activity near/in friendly territory. It can also be used to respond to major attacks on a frontline where manpower is needed.

R.ALL/Rall/R.Alloys Rare Alloys Refined Resources

The refined form of rare metals, a resource used to build large ships as well as the A0E-9 rocket.

Random Random Player Type of Player

A term used by people in regiments to refer to people not in a regiment.

Alternatively used by a person in a regiment to refer to another person in a regiment, but that regiment is not widely known.

RB Relic Base Garrison Structure

A Relic Base, which is a World Base that is (majority of the time) not a part of a Town area. Operates very similarly to a Town Base, but doesn't include Base Upgrades pertaining to Logistical Structures or Garrisoned Houses.

RG Rifle Garrison Defense Structure

A Rifle Garrison An AI bunker structure that will attack enemies

RP Rifle Pillbox Defense Structure

The Rifle Pillbox. An AI defense used to prevent enemies from attacking in a 360 degree area.

RDZ Rapid Decay Zone Game Mechanic

The Decay zone within 150 meters from a border (with some exceptions in certain areas). It is not preventable and only accelerates the decay timer.

RE.MATs / Rel.MATs Relic Materials Rare Resources

Relic Materials. These are special materials used to produce Relic Vehicles during Relic War events and are obtained from Wreckage. These do not spawn during regular World Conquests.

Reset/Tap Tactic The full reconstruction of a destroyed enemy Base (either a World Base or a Bunker Base), resetting its upgrades and tier. The base must be destroyed (showing as a white icon on the map), then rebuilt with any type of Construction Vehicle, requiring the necessary materials for a full rebuild. Resetting reduces the contained supplies to 25% of their original amount, removes all Soldier Supplies, Maintenance Supplies, and resets its Base Upgrades.

NOTE: Prior to Update 1.52, Taps just required the blueprint of a structure to be placed in order to reset its upgrades. These tactics were especially dangerous for Logi Hubs and stocked Stockpiles at frontlines, as it could hinder logistics, and potentially set back progress for a minimum of two days (in order to get the 'Industry' upgrade fully unlocked).

R.MATs Refined Materials Refined Resources

Refined Materials. A refined resource used in Armored Vehicles, and other heavy equipment.

RSC/TSC Railway Storm Cannon Artillery

The Tempest Cannon RA-2. A Storm Cannon mounted on to a Railway car, which is able to be deployed and fired. Has the same properties of a regular Storm Cannon, but requires Enriched Oil in order to be fired.

Satchels Alligator / Satchel Charge Explosive Device

SC Storm Cannon Artillery

The Storm Cannon. A large player-made stationary artillery piece that can fire shells into other regions. Requires power in order to be fired.

SD/Depot Storage Depot Structure

A permanent Town Structure where crates of equipment and materials, vehicles (in crate form or unpackaged form), and other shippables can be stored. Functions nearly identically to the Seaport.

Scrap/Scroop Salvage Raw Resource

A type of raw resource that can only be obtained at Salvage Fields and Salvage Mines.
NOTE: The term 'Scroop' originated from when the in-game chat would censor the word 'Scrap,' leading to players bypassing this issue by rewriting the word. This was eventually resolved, but the term stuck.

Scrapper/Scrooper Raw Resources Miner Player Role

A player that concentrates their efforts in harvesting raw resources (e.g. harvesting Salvage, Coal, Components, or Sulfur) and either storing it in nearby containers for other players to pick them up, or to transport it to a nearby Refinery or Facility and refine them.

Shirts / SS Soldier Supplies Spawn Supplies

Refers to Soldier Supplies, which are supplies consumed at Bases in order to respawn players.

SH Safe House / Silverhand Garrison Structure/Warden Assault Tank

SR / AR Assault Rifle Light Kinetic Weapons

Late-game Infantry rifles that fire 7.92mm at a fast rate. Originated from the game's first Assault Rifle, the Aalto Storm Rifle 24.

ST Scout Tank / Storm Tank Scout Tank

A Warden-exclusive vehicle that has properties of a Light Tank, but with less powerful weaponry, and a smaller chassis.

T1/T2/T3 Tier 1 / Tier 2 / Tier 3 Structure Mechanic

Certain structures like Town Bases and Garrisoned Houses have a particular tier, mostly affecting their strength and health. They must be upgraded with a CV to level up to the next tier.
Can also refer to Vehicle Tiers.

Intelligence

To place a Listening Kit (see LK) near an enemy intelligence-gathering structure, intercepting its map intelligence.

TH Town Hall Garrison Structure

T.MATs Aluminum(Al), Copper(Cu), or Iron(Fe) Tech Resources

A type of resource (both in its raw and refined states) used to advance the technology level of a faction via the Engineering Center.
May refer to: Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy, Copper and Copper Alloy, or Iron and Iron Alloy.

Vegan P.Cons Processed Construction Materials Facility Materials

Processed Construction Materials made from zero Components in a Metalworks Factory (Recycler). Named after "Vegan Meat" which similarly is meat made from zero animal products in a factory.

Vic Vehicle A general term for any vehicle, with it being purposefully unspecific.
VP Victory Point Garrison Structure

A Town Base (usual a capital of a region) that counts towards the World Conquest victory conditions.

WC World Conquest Game Mode

The main game mode of Foxhole. Usually used in reference to a specific war (i.e. World Conquest 100 referred to as "WC100")

WT Watchtower Intel Structure

A Watchtower, which is a buildable structure that is used to gather map intelligence over a certain area.
