Versioning

This article is considered accurate for the current version (1.58) of the game.

A heavy Lance variation, the 25, or “Hasta”, was employed in the first siege on Brightwall, a city now colloquially referred to as, “The Blemish”. Bombarded by heavy, armoured resistance in northern Veli, Colonial tank regiments requested a heavy vehicle with more effective search and destroy capabilities. Fitted with a front-facing 94.5mm cannon, the “Hasta” is a more than capable tank destroyer.
In-game description

The Lance-25 "Hasta" (also known as a Battle Tank Destroyer or BTD) is a Colonial Battle Tank Destroyer. It is defined by its turret-less chassis. It is equipped with an off-centered, hull-mounted 94.5mm main cannon.

General Info

Crew

The Lance-25 "Hasta" houses a crew of four soldiers:

  • Driver (Seat 1)
    • Controls the movement of the vehicle, and can see the remaining fuel in the tank
  • Cannoneer (Gunner) (Seat 2)
    • Controls the movement and firing of the 94.5mm main cannon. Cannot reload the cannon from this seat
  • Commander (Seat 3)
    • Capable of directing the tank crew, as well as giving them a better overview of the battlefield
    • Can open up the cupola (hatch) by pressing E, which allows the player to use their secondary, such as a binocular
  • Engineer (Seat 4)
    • Reloads the main cannon by pressing R
    • Can repair the vehicle from the inside using E, each repair action takes 3 seconds and consumes 3 Basic Materials from the player's inventory
    • Capable of seeing the health of the Battle Tank Destroyer, as well as how many shells remaining inside the inventory

Armament

The Lance-25 "Hasta" is equipped with one main armament:

  • 94.5mm Cannon
    • A 94.5mm cannon placed in the hull (24 degree firing arc)
    • Ammo Used: 94.5mm
    • Range: 40 meters
    • Reload Duration: 6 seconds
    • Firing Duration: 2 seconds
    • Fire Rate: 10 per minute

Inventory

It has 1 dedicated ammo slot which can hold 8 94.5mm shells.

Health & Armor

The Lance-25 “Hasta” has 6250 HP and is disabled under 30% health. It has "Heavy Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire, shrapnel, and 12.7mm machine guns, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. But heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry are a real threat to it.
It has subsystems that have a chance to be disabled by heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry if hit specifically: Tracks: 30% (Anti-Tank Mines always disable them), Fuel Tank: 25%, Turret/Cannon: 25%.
It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 20% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle, or with ammo that has penetration bonuses.
It takes 230 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health, subsystems, and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.

Storage & Transport

The Lance-25 “Hasta” cannot be stored in a Storage Depot, Seaport or Storage Ship.

It can be packaged into a large Shippable and transported only by certain Shipping Vehicles (Barge, Freighter, Storage Ship, Flatbed Car, or Large Crane).

Tactics

Unlike other Battle Tanks, which are multi-role tanks, the Lance-25 "Hasta" plays similarly to the Noble Widow MK. XIV (also known as the HTD), except it's larger, slower, and more heavy-hitting. Due to this, it's best used to combat other tanks at range, rather than 'closing the gap' on opponents and fighting them face-to-face.

Due to the relative cost of the fuel, special care must be taken to ensure it does not run out of fuel and get stranded.

Due to 94.5mm being an AP round, it has a higher chance of penetrating armor, and can disable subsystems easier compared to 75mm rounds. Targeting enemy vehicle's subsystems is highly recommended.

Due to the lack of anti-infantry weaponry, unlike on other Battle Tanks, extreme care must be taken to ensure infantry cannot ambush the Battle Tank.

Due to the expensive cost of the vehicle, it is recommended to have a Commander, or adequate protection from other tanks and infantry so it is protected at all times.

Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and multiple Filters to avoid dying to Gas Grenades. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the tank. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.

Tips

  • Like all vehicles that use large shells, they can be quickly submitted into them without accessing their inventory
    • While this can be done for all vehicles, it should only be done if they can carry/use large items
  1. Equip the shell and walk up to the vehicle
  2. Submit the shell into the vehicle - press V
  • Battle Tanks are automatically deleted if left unused in the world for a week.

Trivia

  • The Lance-25 "Hasta" is the first Battle Tank introduced that doesn't have a secondary weapon (such as a machine gun), with its weaponry resembling more of a Tank Destroyer, rather than a standard Battle Tank.
  • The Lance-25 "Hasta" was the first new Battle Tank introduced into the game after their removal.
    • Battle Tanks were removed in Update 0.40, and later reintroduced in 1.50 Inferno, which drastically reworked a lot of their aspects.
  • The overall design of the Lance-25 "Hasta" bears a resemblance to a vehicle seen in the concept art in the Foxhole's 2021 End-of-Year Devblog.
