Health & Armor

The BMS - Class 2 Mobile Auto-Crane has 1500 HP and is disabled under 75% health. It has "Unarmoured" resistance, even small arms fire and Flamethrowers are a danger to it.
It takes 100 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.

A disabled crane can still be deployed and use its arm.

Tactics

Cranes are one of the most useful logistical vehicles to have as they allow large equipment to be fielded, either for logistical purposes, or frontline work. They are also the slowest vehicle in the game and consume a lot of fuel, so you don't want to move them around too much. If possible, it would be preferable to have multiple cranes spread throughout strategic places. Having them situated at major resource locations (such as Salvage Fields) are favorable, as it allows the use of Resource Containers and Flatbed Trucks, which make transporting raw resources very efficient.

Like with all cranes, it is possible to stack three containers vertically for better storage, though you should only stack them up to two containers, as you will not be able to reach the 3rd container, even when pressing Shift + E.

Tips

  • All land vehicles can be packaged, except for Bicycles, Transport Buses, Flatbed Trucks, Super Tanks, and other Cranes
  • Despite being able to be locked, players should never lock a crane, as it inconveniences others
  • Unlike Flatbed Trucks, if a crane is destroyed while holding cargo, the cargo will be destroyed along with it
  • Cranes can be parked on a Barge, even while holding a Shippable, however it cannot deploy on a Barge whether the ramp is lowered or not. This was implemented to prevent the transport by Barge of Extra Large Shippable held by a Crane.
  • Cranes do not move slower when lifting a shippable
  • If you exit the driver seat in the middle of an arm movement (holding the aim button) the crane will automatically finish the arm's movement and stop at the spot where you were last aiming.
  • Crane can transfer resource from container to facilities in interaction range of the soldier[1]
