A container that can carry large quantities of resources and can be transported by certain vehicles.
In-game description

The Resource Container is a shippable structure used to transport large quantities of solid raw resources.

Use

Its stockpile can hold 5000 resources but only accepts solid resources that come from Resource Fields (Salvage, Coal, Components, Damaged Components, Sulfur, Aluminum, Iron, Copper, Rare Metal) and also Coke. It can't hold Oil or Wreckage. Multiple types of resources can be placed in the same resource container. You can visually see the resources pile up in the container.

It is generally used at Resource Fields to carry the collected resources in bulk.

Transport

As a shippable, it can be packaged with the "package" Unpackage UI Icon.png button in its menu (the inventory must be empty but not the stockpile). Once packaged, it can then be lifted by a Crane and placed on any Shipping Vehicle for transport. While on a vehicle you cannot interact with it. You will require another crane at your destination to lift the container from the vehicle. To unpackage it simply press E.

Like every other player made structures, it can decay after a while if left on the ground.

Multiple containers can be stacked on top of each other. If you stack more than 2, you wont be able to package the top one and the 2 below wont be pickable.

Interactions

When it's on the ground and unpackaged, you can open its menu with E while you're on foot or in a Truck. You can then submit resources from your inventory to the container's stockpile by right-clicking the resources and selecting "Submit to Stockpile". Resources in the container's inventory can also be submitted by pressing the "Submit Stockpile Items"SubmitCrate.png button. Resources can be manually retrieved from the container.

It is a neutral structure, its stockpile can be accessed by both factions and cannot be locked.

Using a crane the resource container can be deposited on the loading area of certain buildings to interact with them:

  • Storage Depot & Seaport: The container can be stored if its stockpile is empty (click the Submit Loading Area Equipment DrivewayEquipment.png button).
  • Refinery: The resources in the container can be unloaded in the refinery stockpile or directly refined.
  • World Resource Mine: The container can be placed on the invisible loading area in front of the mine to retrieve the resources produced by the mine. (A gear icon will pop up, letting you know that you can interface with the mine) Unfortunately, if you exit out of the Mine's menu, you will not be able to re-enter into the resource container's menu. If you do click out of it, the only way to gain access to your container is to repackage the container, pick it up with a crane, and place it back down on the Mine.
  • Resource Transfer Station: A type of Facility that is able to store a single type of resource. Due to its somewhat low capacity, it can only hold up to 2.4 containers worth of resources. It is still highly recommended to use it as it allows the easy transfer of resources. (Keep in mind that is structure can be squad-locked, which means that you might not be able to interact with it) Like other structures, it requires a crane in order to be interacted with the resource container.

Colour customization

You can chose from one of 8 colors to paint a container by selecting a colour in its menu.
