Resource Container
This article is timeless and should be accurate for any version of the game.
“ | A container that can carry large quantities of resources and can be transported by certain vehicles. | „ |
— In-game description |
The Resource Container is a shippable structure used to transport large quantities of solid raw resources and loose intermediate resources.
Production
Structure | Input(s) | Output | Time |
---|---|---|---|
Construction Yard | 50 x Basic Materials | Resource Container | 50 Hammer hits |
Mass Production Factory | 150 x Basic Materials | Crate of 3 x Resource Container | 00:41:40 |
Colour customization
You can chose from one of 8 colors to paint a container by selecting a colour in its menu.
Use
You can access its interface when on foot or in a logistics vehicle by pressing E
when it is not packaged.
Resource Storage
Its stockpile can hold 5000 resources but only accepts:
- Solid raw resources from Resource Fields: Salvage, Coal, Components, Damaged Components, Sulfur, Aluminum, Iron, Copper, Rare Metal
- Loose intermediate resources: Gravel, Explosive Powder, Heavy Explosive Powder, Coke
It can't hold Oil or Wreckage. Multiple types of resources can be placed in the same resource container. You can visually see the resources pile up in the container.
In its interface, you can press the Stockpile Actions Log button to view the logs of items retrieved from and submitted to the stockpile.
It is generally used at Resource Fields to carry the collected resources in bulk.
It is a neutral structure, its stockpile can be accessed by both factions and cannot be locked.
Crates of accepted resources can be directly submitted to transfer their content into the stockpile with Right Click
> "Submit All To Stockpile".
Transport
As a shippable, it can be packaged with the "package" button in its menu (the inventory must be empty but not the stockpile). Once packaged, it can then be lifted by a Crane and placed on any Shipping Vehicle for transport. While on a vehicle you cannot interact with it. You will require another crane at your destination to lift the container from the vehicle. To unpackage it simply press E
.
Like every other player made structures, it can decay after a while if left on the ground.
Multiple containers can be stacked on top of each other. If you stack more than 2, you wont be able to package the top one while on foot and the 2 below wont be pickable.
When empty it can be stored in a stockpile at a Storage Depot, Seaport, Storage Ship, or Resource Ship by depositing it on their loading area and pressing the Submit Loading Area Equipment
button in their interface.
Resource Transfer
Using a crane, it can be deposited on any loading area of structures or ships to transfer items in or out of the stockpile. The more important ones are:
Name | Use |
---|---|
Refinery | Submit/Retrieve resources from the public stockpile. Transfer the container's content to be refined |
Salvage Mine / Component Mine / Sulfur Mine | Retrieve the Mine's production . Note: Loading area is invisible and in front of the mine |
Offshore Platform | Deliver Coal for production input |
Resource Transfer Station | Submit/Retrieve resources |
Resource Ship | Submit/Retrieve resources |
Trivia
- Prior to Update 1.56, Resource Container only came in one colour.
- In Update 1.57 Resource Containers were changed to be able to also hold Gravel, Explosive Power, and Heavy Explosive Powder.
