A facility that stores equipment and ammunition for artillery. Retrieval is very quickly for this structure.
In-game description

The Storage Room (also known as an Ammo Room) is a Bunker modification that can store large quantities of various Large Items in its stockpile. It is primarily used in artillery operations, when the need for easily accessed shells are necessary.

Construction

A Tier 2 Storage Room can be constructed by modifying a Tier 2 Bunker with a Hammer and 75 Basic Materials if it has the following requirements:

  • Connected to a Bunker Base through trenches or bunkers
  • Bunker Base must have unlocked the Support Bunkers (Tier 1 & Tier 2) ObservationBunkerT2ItemIcon.png upgrade

Use Mouse scroll vertical.svg to select the bunker wall where the big rack will be placed.

Installing that modification very slightly decreases (0.97) the Structural Integrity of its Bunker Network.

Tier 3

A Tier 3 Storage Room is built by modifiying a Tier 3 Bunker or by upgrading a Tier 2 Storage Room (the latter being cheaper overall) with 25 Concrete Materials. It must be connected to a Bunker Base (either through trenches or other bunker pieces) with the Support Bunkers (Tier 3) ObservationBunkerT3ItemIcon.png upgrade.

The concrete must dry off for 24 hours (longer during a Snow Storm or Rain Storm). While wet, the structure already works but is more vulnerable and cannot be upgraded except adding small modifications.

Reconstruction

When destroyed it only leaves behind a simple Bunker husk of the corresponding tier and all modifications are deleted (like every other "room" structure upgrades). The husk can be destroyed or it can be rebuilt and the upgrade reinstalled normally.

Use

Its interface can be accessed on foot only from inside the bunker by pressing Keyboard e.png.

Storage

It has 1 inventory slot and a stockpile that can hold up to 100 Large Items of a single type. The stockpile only accepts large Shells, Flame Ammo, Tripods, Tripod Weapons, Sandbag, Barbed Wire, Metal Beam, Concrete Materials, Sea Mines, Depth Charges, Listening Kits, Wind Socks, and banners (Legion Vexillum, War Ensign).

Crates of Large Items can be directly submitted to the Room's stockpile, just like submitting them to a Base (Mouse right.svg > Submit All to Stockpile). However the room's short interaction range means it can only be interacted from inside (can't interact with it from driver seat of a logistics vehicle).

The more items are submitted into the room, the more items can be seen on the storage room rack, similar to Material Transfer Stations.

While on foot you can press Keyboard v.png to retrieve an item from the stockpile without having to open the storage room's menu.

When its Bunker is reserved for a Squad, non-members cannot retrieve items from the stockpile.

The operator of a Small Flatbed Car can submit its stockpile's content into the Storage Room's stockpile when next to it.

Tactics

While Storage Rooms are good for storing artillery shells, it is only useful when they are easily accessible to artillery pieces. This means they must be placed or constructed in a way that makes them accessible above or below ground, especially when there is built-in artillery pieces, such as Storm Cannons. When constructing them, it is ideally located near doorways or Bunker Ramps.

Due to the impact of Storage Rooms on Structural Integrity, they will decrease the health of their Bunker Network. As such, they should not be placed in valuable locations, where overall bunker health is vital, such as frontal bunker pieces, or important bunker structures like Storm Cannons, and Intelligence Centers.

The best use for the single inventory slot is to store an item crate that can be submitted to the stockpile whenever necessary.

Trivia

  • Prior to Update 1.50 ('Inferno'), the Storage Room used to be called the Ammo Room, and could only hold artillery shells, such as 120mm, 150mm, and 300mm shells. This was later changed, as it could now hold more items, such as Tripod Weapons and various Large Materials (most notably of the building variety).
  • Tier 2 Storage Rooms were added in Update 1.52, as Storage Rooms were only available for Tier 3 bunker pieces (making them much more costly in their construction).

Update History

Update Changes
Update 1.52
  • Tier 2 Storage Room added to the game (previously only Tier 3 was available)
  • Tier 3 Storage Room repair cost reduced from 200 to 160 to be in line with other Tier 3 Bunker pieces.
