Not to be outdone by its counterparts, the 2a-1 “Ruptura” is fitted with a 75mm cannon. Designed to aid in holding ground for longer durations, the “Ruptura” is a strong, efficient anti-armour tool.

It must be fully researched in the Weapons and Structure IconFilterWeaponsStructures.png Tech Tree in order to be produced.

Use

It can be interacted with either on foot, or in a vehicle by pressing E. 75mm shells can be directly submitted into the artillery piece by pressing V. The enemy players cannot interact or use it.

Weapon Platform

Its weapon platform is manned by a single player.

Crew:

  • Cannoneer
    • Rotates the turret by aiming with RMB
    • Fires and reloads the cannon

It lacks a front shield meaning the crew is vulnerable to incoming fire.

Armament:

  • 75mm Cannon
    • Mounted on the platform (can rotate 360 degrees), turns 3° per second)
    • Ammo Used: 75mm BattleTankAmmoItemIcon.png
    • Range: 45 meters
    • Reload Duration: 3 seconds
    • Firing Duration: 1.5 seconds
    • Fire Rate: 13.33 per minute
    • High velocity barrel increases damage by 35% (2362 damage)

Inventory:
It has a dedicated ammo slot that can hold one 75mm shell (meaning you can only have one shell loaded in the barrel and one spare).

Transport

As an Emplaced Weapon it cannot move on its own, and must be packaged and lifted by Cranes in order to be moved anywhere. It can be transported by shipping vehicles.

Placement

It can be placed pretty much anywhere on land, even on top of other structures. It can be placed within 60 meters of a region's border ("no build" zone), however it will still quickly decay there. The only notable place where it can't be placed is Bridges.

It can also be placed inside a Trench Emplacement. Doing so quadruples its health and doubles its rotation speed. However if the Trench Emplacement is destroyed, the Emplaced Weapon goes along with it.

Visibility

It is invisible at night, just like infantry and behind physical obstacles. It can also be hidden by being placed inside large bushes, but is revealed to people within 10m. Only its firing effects (smoke and flashes from the barrel) will betray its presence. This only works if it's not packaged.

Resistance

It is immune to small arms, fragmentation grenades, but not to 12.7mm machine gun fire and it is pretty resistant to most heavier explosives.

Tactics

The DAE 2a-1 “Ruptura” is a powerful tool designed to stop enemy armored vehicles, especially tanks, from advancing into friendly defenses. Due to its armament, it is well equipped to heavily damage, or outright destroy armored vehicles within its firing range.

Due to being equipped with a 75mm shell, it is incapable of sustained fire, as the weapon is only able to hold two rounds. As such, it requires a minimum of two players to operate; one player must man and fire the emplacement, while the other player must ferry shells to its location and deposit into it. Due to this limitation, it is important for 75mm shells to be in close proximity, either in a nearby Material Pallet, or a Storage Room.

Due to the exposed nature of the emplacement, gunners should equip themselves with gas masks and filters to prevent them from being killed by gas grenades. This is especially important when it comes to enemy pushes, where enemy infantry might try to gas out the position, preventing friendly soldiers from manning it and allowing enemy armor to eliminate it.

Trivia

  • The word, “Ruptura”, means "rupture" in latin
  • Despite having an extra seat on the left side of the emplacement, it has no tactical function
