A Bunker Corner (colloquially known as a Corner Piece) is an alternative type of Bunker with a somewhat triangular shape rather than the standard square. Its diagonal side is as wide as a regular bunker side so bunkers can be attached to it to create 45 degree angles in bunker structures.

An underground shelter that serves as a foundation for permanent fortifications. Connects to other Bunkers and Trenches.
In-game description

Construction

The Tier 1 Bunker Corner is built with a Shovel like a regular Bunker.

Structural Integrity

The Tier 1 Bunker greatly decreases the Structural Integrity of its Bunker Network.

Construction

The Tier 2 Bunker Corner is built either by upgrading a Tier 1 Bunker Corner or by modifiying a Tier 2 Bunker.

Structural Integrity

The Tier 2 Bunker slightly decreases the Structural Integrity of its Bunker Network.

Construction

The Tier 3 Bunker Corner is built either by upgrading a Tier 2 Bunker Corner or by modifiying a Tier 3 Bunker.

Concrete Settling

It must dry off for 24 hours before a Structure Upgrade modification can be added. The duration increases during Snow Storms and Rain Storms depending on their intensity (up to double with highest intensity).

While very sturdy when dry, it is vulnerable while still wet. The vulnerability depends on how wet the concrete is and functions as a damage multiplier. Wet concrete that's just been placed has a x10 damage multiplier compared to dry concrete. After 8 hours the damage multiplier is roughly x3, and x2 after 12 hours.

Structural Integrity

It very slightly decreases the Structural Integrity of its Bunker Network.

Bunker Network

When attached to another Bunker, the wall between them disappears and they become one single Bunker Network with shared health. If one of the parts gets destroyed, they all get destroyed.

Modifications

Modifications can be added to a Bunker with a Hammer in "Upgrade" mode (switch with F), press E to open the upgrade menu.

Small Modifications

Adding a Small Modification makes your character perform a short construction animation after which the modification appears. The materials will automatically be taken from your inventory. Use Mouse Wheel to select the orientation and position of the Small Modification when relevant. They can be removed by pressing Right Click on their icon option in the upgrade menu instead of Left Click.

Infrastructure Modifications

An Infrastructure Modification can be installed inside a Tier 2 or Tier 3 Bunker Corner if it is connected to a Bunker Base by Trenches or Bunkers (up to a maximum range of 40 pieces). See the Infrastructure Modifications section on the Bunker page for more info.

Structure Upgrades

Structure Upgrades cannot be installed on Bunker Corners, they require regular Bunkers.

Reservation

The original builder can reserve it for a Squad BtReserve.png for 52 hours in the upgrade menu to prevent non-members from modifying it, upgrading it, or attaching structures to it. The reservation can be refreshed BtRefreshBunker.png by any squad member. If the reservation expires, the structure can never be reserved again.

Demolition

The original builder, and squad members if reserved, can instantly demolish it BtDemolish.png if it was built less than 3 hours ago. The materials used in the construction and upgrades are refunded and dropped under the player. If part of a Bunker Network, it must be fully repaired. The demolition doesn't affect the other bunkers inside that bunker network.

Reconstruction

When destroyed, it leaves behind a husk that can be either destroyed or rebuilt. Reconstruction uses the same tool and materials as the construction of its current tier (e.g. shoveling for Tier 1, Hammer and 75 bmats for Tier 2). It cannot be rebuilt if an enemy base is less than 25m away. The reconstruction restores all small modifications and infrastructure modifications.

Unlike trench husks, bunker husks cannot be filled in with a shovel.

Actions Log

The list of all special actions done to the bunker can be viewed with the "View Action Logs" button BtLog.png.

Use

Defensive Position

It offers great cover and good firing positions for infantry, especially with some small modifications installed. Bunker interior can protect infantry against Artillery. It also slowly warms up infantry in it during Snow Storms.

Bunkers are neutral structures by default if no Structure Upgrade modification is installed on them. An enemy can add or remove small modifications and Infrastructure Modifications from your bunker unless it is connected via Trench/Bunker to a friendly Bunker Base or if it is in the same Bunker Network as a friendly Bunker with a Structure Upgrade modification installed (e.g. Rifle Garrison).

When destroyed, the husk it leaves can still be used by soldiers to hide inside it by crouching but it offers worse cover than a normal bunker or trench. All vehicles can drive over bunker husks. The husk also does not protect infantry from Snow Storms.

Spreading Base Upgrades

The Base Upgrades unlocked by a Bunker Base spread through and apply to all connected Trenches and Bunkers, up to a maximum range of 40 pieces. Bunker husks also spread Base upgrades.

Resistance

At Tier 1, it is immune to small arms and fragmentation grenades, but not to 12.7mm machine gun fire or heavier explosives. Tier 2 makes it immune to 12.7mm. Tier 3 increases its resistant to heavy explosives except Demolition explosives.

When it's destroyed, every infantry in it dies. Even vehicles that touch the bunker might be instantly destroyed.

The destroyed Bunker husk has the same health and resistance as it had when alive but its decay is faster and cannot be prevented.

Tips

The 45 degree angles offered by the corners are useful for ensuring proper coverage of your Machine Gun Garrisons and AT Gun Garrisons.

Regular Bunkers can be modified into Bunker Corners but not the other way around.
