“ | Offshore Platforms are open-water extraction facilities used to mine Heavy Oil and extract Rare Metals. A steady supply of highly processed Coke is required to keep operations running, as extracting materials from the ocean floor is a complex process. | „ |
— In-game description |
The Offshore Platform is a World Resource Mine that automatically produces Heavy Oil. It can also produce Enriched Oil when given fuel (Coal).
Construction
It cannot be built, it is found in the world. Its location is indicated by an icon on the map.
Reconstruction
A destroyed Offshore Platform can be rebuilt using a Construction Vehicle and 100 Construction Materials .
Must be fully researched in the Weapons and Structures Tech Tree in order to be constructed.
At the beginning of a new war, all Offshore Platforms start destroyed, like every other World Resource Mines.
Stationary Crane
An Offshore Platform always has a Stationary Crane next to it. The crane is a separate structure, it must be individually rebuilt using a Construction Vehicle and 100 Basic Materials if destroyed.
Use
Its interface can be accessed on foot or from the driver seat of a logistics vehicle by pressing E
.
Resource Production
Input(s) | Output(s) | Time (hh:mm:ss) |
---|---|---|
1 x Heavy Oil | 00:00:50 | |
100 x Coal | 1 x Enriched Oil | 00:01:30 |
Storage
Its stockpile can hold up to 32000 Heavy Oil cans, Coal, and Enriched Oil. The production automatically halts when it is full.
You can remotely view the item amounts in its stockpile by putting your cursor on its icon on the map. This is only available if your faction controls the Region Zone the platform is on.
Loading Area
You can place a shippable container on the loading area with a crane to interact with the structure and directly transfer items in or out. You can repackage the shippable from the crane by pressing the "Package Loading Area Equipment" button in the interface.
With this, you can easily deliver Coal with a Resource Container and retrieve Heavy Oil and Enriched Oil with a Liquid Container.
Docking
It has two small docks where ships with ramps can deploy (mostly for Barges).
Resistance
It is immune to small arms, fragmentation grenades, and 12.7mm machine gun fire, but not to heavier explosives.
Tips
- Every time you collect resources from a Resource Mine, you should refuel it in order to get the most resources out of it
- The platform is elevated, a swimming soldier cannot climb on it. A motorboat can pass under it and its driver can access its interface.
Trivia
- The Offshore Platform is the first World Resource Mine that is color-coded on the map, depending on the faction who controls/rebuilt it (similar to Town Bases and Relic Bases).
- Unlike other World Resource Mines, the interface of the Offshore Platform is more akin to facility interfaces, which have multiple recipes and only one option can be selected at a time.
- All Resource Fields and the rest of the World Resource Mines are colored white on the map, regardless of who controls/rebuilds them.
- During the devbranch of Update 1.54 ('Naval Warfare'), Offshore Platforms used to have a recipe that consumed coke, and would output Heavy Oil, have a chance of dropping Rare Metal (which were initially called 'Rare Alloys').
- This was later changed after community feedback, which removed the coke input and Rare Metal drop chance, and replaced it with a continuous Heavy Oil recipe, and a simple Enriched Oil recipe.
