An entrenched bunker manned by stationed troops armed with Rifles.
In-game description

The Rifle Garrison is a player-built defensive Bunker modification (sits on top of the Bunker) that automatically fires at enemies with a rifle when garrisoned. It can be upgraded for better health and resistance.

Construction

A Tier 1 Rifle Garrison can be constructed by modifying a Tier 1 Bunker with a Hammer and 50 Basic Materials if it has the following requirements:

During placement its firing range is shown.

Tier 2

A Tier 1 Rifle Garrison can be upgraded to Tier 2 with a Hammer in upgrade mode (press F) and 75 Basic Materials.

Alternatively a Tier 2 Bunker can be modified into a Tier 2 Rifle Garrison with same tool and cost if it has the same requirements as Tier 1 construction.

Tier 3

A Tier 2 Rifle Garrison can be upgraded to Tier 3 with 15 Concrete Materials if it is connected to a Bunker Base (through trenches or bunkers) with the Concrete Structures CivicMaterialsIcon.png upgrade.

Alternatively a Tier 3 Bunker can be modified into a Tier 3 Rifle Garrison with same cost if it has the same requirements as Tier 1 construction plus:

  • Its concrete must be dry
  • Connected Bunker Base must have unlocked Concrete Structures CivicMaterialsIcon.png upgrades

This method is more expensive overall as it requires spending Concrete Materials twice.

Concrete Settling:
It must dry off for 24 hours but it already works while wet. The duration increases during Snow Storms and Rain Storms depending on their intensity (up to double with highest intensity).

While very sturdy when dry, it is vulnerable while still wet. The vulnerability depends on how wet the concrete is and functions as a damage multiplier. Wet concrete that's just been placed has a x10 damage multiplier compared to dry concrete. After 8 hours the damage multiplier is roughly x3, and x2 after 12 hours.

Reconstruction

When destroyed, it leaves behind a husk that can be either destroyed or rebuilt. Reconstruction uses the same tool and materials as the construction of its current tier and has the same requirements. It cannot be rebuilt if an enemy base is less than 25m away. The reconstruction restores all small modifications and infrastructure modifications installed inside.

Structural Integrity

A Rifle Garrison decreases the Structural Integrity of its Bunker Network, greatly at Tier 1, moderately at Tier 2, and very slightly at Tier 3.

Use

Garrison

When its Garrison is active (large flag on top), it automatically fires a 7.62mm rifle on any enemy vehicle, infantry, and structures within 26 meters (29m from its center) in a full 360 degree arc. The gun takes 3.5 seconds to reach its maximum fire rate (120 rounds/min) and accuracy. Similar to player vision, its detection range is reduced at night (down to 14m at midnight) but less if its bunker is powered. Getting shot by an enemy triggers its retaliation fire for 5.5 seconds, it locks on and fires at the shooter if it has a line of sight, bypassing its night vision limitation. Its retaliation range is only limited by its caliber, the 7.62mm bullets starts dealing less damage past 27 meters and no damage past 43 meters. If the shooter was in a vehicle/structure and dismounts the retalation fire keeps targeting their old seat in the vehicle/structure and not the shooter now on foot. If a Rifle Garrison is attached to other bunkers it will only retaliate if actual damage is dealt (e.g. not small arms) but will also retaliate if a connected bunker is damaged.

The garrison doesn't need ammunition.

The garrison can be suppressed, but it's harder the higher the tier.

Power:
If it is powered with 600W, the spotlight on top of it turns on and allows the garrison to get a few more meters of range during the night. Powering a Rifle Garrison does NOT activate the Garrison! The direction of the spotlight doesn't matter, when enemies are in range the spotlight follows them.

Defensive Position

One friendly player can get inside it from the bunker interior underneath by pressing Q. While inside they cannot be injured by anything except Gas Grenades or heat. They can fire with their equipped weapon in any direction unless the garrison is suppressed. They instantly die if the bunker is destroyed.

Resistance

At Tier 1 it is immune to small arms and fragmentation grenades, but not to 12.7mm machine gun fire or heavier explosives. At Tier 2 it becomes immune to 12.7mm machine gun fire. At Tier 3 it becomes pretty resistant to most heavier explosives.
