Material Pallet
“ | A material pallet. | „ |
— In-game description |
The Material Pallet (simply known as a Pallet) is a small shippable structure used for transporting large quantities of most Large Items, as well as Construction Materials.
Production
Structure | Input(s) | Output | Time |
---|---|---|---|
Construction Yard | 25 x Basic Materials | Material Pallet | 25 Hammer hits |
Mass Production Factory | 75 x Basic Materials | Crate of 3 x Material Pallet | 00:20:50 |
Small Assembly Station | 25 x Basic Materials 2 MW of power |
Material Pallet | 00:00:15 |
Use
You can access its interface when on foot or in a logistics vehicle by pressing E
when it is not packaged. Careful for the vehicle not to physically touch it if the pallet is empty.
Large Item Storage
It has 5 inventory slots, however it cannot be packaged if they are not empty.
It has an item stockpile that accepts Construction Materials and nearly all Large Item types, except for Listening Kit, Hydra's Whisper, Wind Socks, and Critically Wounded Soldiers. The stockpile cannot mix item types.
The stockpile capacity depends on the type of item stored:
- 120 for Construction Materials and most Large Items
- 60 for certain larger items: 75mm, 94.5mm, 250mm, Sea Mine, Flame Ammo, 4C-Fire Rocket, and 3C-High Explosive Rocket
- 5 for Moray Torpedoes
The visual model of the pallet changes depending on how many items are in it.
It is a neutral structure, its stockpile can be accessed by both factions and cannot be locked.
Crates of accepted items can be directly submitted to transfer their items into the stockpile, with RMB
> Submit All To Stockpile
.
The operator of a Small Flatbed Car parked next to the pallet can instantly submit the car's full content into the pallet by pressing LMB
. When on foot the Large Items can be submitted by pressing V
while next to the pallet, you can also press V
to retrieve an item from the pallet without having to open its menu.
Transport
As a shippable, it can be packaged with the "package" button in its menu (the inventory must be empty but not the stockpile). Once packaged, it can then be lifted by a Crane and placed on any Shipping Vehicle for transport. While on a vehicle you cannot interact with it. You will require another crane at your destination to lift the container from the vehicle. To unpackage it simply press E
.
Like every other player made structures, it can decay after a while if left on the ground.
Unlike certain containers, multiple pallets cannot be stacked on top of each other.
When empty it can be stored in a stockpile at a Storage Depot, Seaport, or Storage Ship by depositing it on their loading area and pressing the Submit Loading Area Equipment
button in their interface.
Large Item Transfer
Using a crane, it can be deposited on any loading area of structures or ships to transfer items in or out of the stockpile. The more important ones are:
Name | Use |
---|---|
Small Assembly Station | Submit/Retrieve items from the stockpile. |
Large Assembly Station | Submit/Retrieve items from the stockpile. |
Material Transfer Station | Submit/Retrieve items from the stockpile |
Dry Dock | Transfering large ammunition into a docked Large Ship's stockpiles |
Resistance
It is immune to small arms but not to 12.7mm machine gun fire. When empty, it is instantly destroyed if rammed by any land vehicle (except for the Ambulance, the Bicycle, and the Motorcycle).
Trivia
- The Material Pallet is the first structure in the game that has a dynamic stockpile, which changes how much items it can hold based on the item being stored.
- Pallets as a general structure were introduced in 0.46 Entrenched, which replaced the way players obtained Barbed Wire, Sandbags, and Metal Beams.
- These materials would have to be built as their own separate structure that contained all their contents (i.e. Barbed Wire Pallets, Metal Beam Pallets, and Sandbag Pallets). This idea would be expanded upon in 1.50 Inferno, where pallets became a separate structure, which had to be filled up with the required materials.
- In its initial release, the Pallet's dynamic stockpile could only switch between 120 or 60 items. This changed with the rework of Torpedos, which are currently the only item that will stack up to 5 items in there.
