In-game description

The Resource Transfer Station (abbreviated as RTS) is a player-built facility structure designed to store large quantities of loose resources in its stockpile.

Construction

It can only be built on Foundations with a Construction Vehicle and 35 Construction Materials. Friendly Resource Transfer Stations are always visible on the map with a unique icon ResourceTransferStationMapIcon.png

Demolition

The original builder, and squad members if reserved, can instantly demolish it BtDemolish.png if it was built less than 28 days ago. The materials used in the construction are refunded and dropped at the player's feet.

Reservation

The original builder can reserve it for a Squad BtReserve.png for 52 hours in the menu to prevent non-members from modifying it, however the stockpile access is not restricted. The reservation can be refreshed BtRefreshBunker.png by any squad member. If the reservation expires, the structure can never be reserved again.

Destruction

It is immune to Friendly Fire but it can be flagged for "Disruptive Structure Placement" BtRemove.png to remove the immunity (10 "votes" needed).

Reconstruction

When destroyed, it leaves behind a Husk that can be destroyed or rebuilt. Reconstruction uses the same tool and materials as the construction. Rebuilding a husk restores the stockpile if it was friendly owned, and only 25% of the stockpile if enemy.

Use

Its interface can be accessed by pressing E when on foot or driving a logistics vehicle.

Storage

Its stockpile only accepts loose resources: Salvage, Coal, Components, Damaged Components, Sulfur, Gravel, Explosive Powder, Heavy Explosive Powder, Coke, and Rare Metal. Unlike similar stockpiles, it cannot store technology materials (Aluminum, Copper, and Iron).

It can hold up to 15,000 items. Different item types can be mixed. Its visual model changes depending on the type and amount of resources inside it. Each 280 items show as a pile of the respective material. The piles are incorporeal and can be walked through.

Crates of loose resources (Explosive Powder, Heavy Explosive Powder, Gravel) can be directly submitted, transferring their content into the stockpile.

Retrieving from the stockpile is extremely fast.

You can view the Stockpile Actions Log BtLog.png to check what was added and retrieved from the stockpile.

You can check the content of a Transfer Station stockpile remotely by putting your cursor on its icon on the map.

Loading Area

You can place a Resource Container on the loading area with a crane to directly transfer items in or out.

Tactics

  • Resource Transfer Stations do not need to be built everywhere, as their usage is only useful in facilities (their effectiveness near Resource Fields is zero, as resources are easily harvested and cannot be accessed by Stationary Harvesters).
    • The types of resources they should carry are also limited, as resources like Salvage and Damaged Components are not necessary to stored, and should immediately be placed in facilities to be processed and refined.

Trivia

  • When the Resource Transfer Station was introduced in 1.50 Inferno, it used the basic facility map icon. This was changed in Update 1.52, when it was given its own map icon.
    • Along with the change, the contents of the Resource Transfer Station could be seen from the map, as long as the Resource Transfer Station is not squadlocked.
