Use
Protection
It is an anti-tank obstacle that blocks the movement of vehicles. It offers some cover to infantry however.
Resistance
It is immune to 12.7mm Machine Guns and pretty resistant to most heavy explosives (except Demolition explosives). However it can also be dismantled with a Wrench (10s animation) or destroyed with a single Hydra's Whisper.
Tactics
When placing tank traps, it's important to remember that they stop both friendly and enemy vehicles and should generally only be put in areas that the enemy will want to move through but your team will not.
Tank Traps are most useful in areas where enemy vehicles need to be stopped, but movement of friendly infantry forward is still necessary. Tank traps can be used as cover by enemy forces. It is generally advised to space them out to mitigate the amount of cover they provide.
Trivia
- The tank traps are based off of the Czech Hedgehog anti-tank obstacles used in WW2 along the Czech–German border. The Germans later adopted the design and used them in large numbers along the French coastline.
