— In-game description |
A Pipeline Valve is a segment of Pipeline that is used to control the rate of flow through the pipeline.
Construction
It is built with a Pipe Large Material and costs 2. The length of the pipeline valve is fixed. The Tier 2 Facility technology must be unlocked to build it.
Pipeline segments can be attached to each other or to various Facility inlet and outlet. The pipeline blueprint automatically snap to viable connection points, you can hold Shift
to disable it.
Modifications
It can be upgraded to be insulated at a cost of one Pipe to prevent the segment from freezing during Snow Storms.
Reservation
The original builder can reserve it for a Squad for 52 hours in the menu to prevent non-members from modifying it. The reservation can be refreshed by any squad member. If the reservation expires, the structure can never be reserved again.
Liquid Filter
A pipeline segment and its network can be restricted to only allow a specific liquid type using the "Cycle Liquid Filter" button in its menu (pipeline must be empty).
Demolition
The original builder, and squad members if reserved, can instantly demolish it if it was built less than 28 days ago. The materials used in the construction and upgrades are refunded and dropped under the player.
Destruction
It is immune to Friendly Fire but it can be flagged for "Disruptive Structure Placement" to remove the immunity (5 "votes" needed).
Structure Event Log
In its interface you can click the "View Actions Log" button to view a list of recent events, with timestamps and player names displayed. Events recorded only include the modifications done to it. The log only displays the last 128 events (8 pages) and is cleared when the server restarts.
Use
You can access its interface when on foot by pressing E
with any construction tool in "Upgrade Mode" (toggle with F
).
Liquid Storage
Unlike other pipeline segments it does not hold any liquid.
Flow Setting
You can check the max flow rate per second inside the pipeline by pressing E
on the valve (only when on foot).
The max flow rate per second of the liquid can be adjusted by using a Wrench, reducing the flow each time, or turning it fully open if it is fully closed. The available flow settings are as follow: 50 L (fully open), 45 L, 40 L, 35 L, 30 L, 25 L, 20 L, 15 L, 10 L, 5 L, and 0.0 L (fully closed (default)).
Pipeline Network
With the other connected pipeline segments, it forms pipeline networks that automatically transfer liquids.
