Shippable Crates contain multiple packed vehicles or structures of the same kind. These vehicles or structures must be first unpacked at a Storage Depot before they can be used.
In-game description

The Shippable Crate is a large shippable structure that typically contains 3 packed vehicles or structures of a given type (though this depends on the vehicle produced).

Production

Shippable Crates can only be produced at the Mass Production Factory. The material cost will be 3 times the amount of one vehicle/structure, with a 10% discount, scaling up to 50% with each order (max of 5 crates).

Transport

It can be packaged (open its menu with E and click the package button at the bottom) and lifted by a Crane then loaded and transported on any Shipping Vehicle.

It can be stored in a Storage Depot, Seaport, or Storage Ship by lifting it with a Crane, depositing it on the loading area, and pressing the Submit Loading Area Equipment button DrivewayEquipment.png (select the desired stockpile at the top right beforehand).

Unpacking

The shippable crate can be unpacked to retrieve its content only when stored inside a Seaport, Storage Depot, or Storage Ship.

Open the building's menu with E and select the correct stockpile at the top right. Then select either the "Vehicle Crate" MapIconVehicle.png or "Structure Crate" ShippableIcon.png section and right click the desired crate. In the context menu choose whether you want to unpack the crate to the public stockpile or a reserve stockpile. Once this is done the crate is destroyed and the structures/vehicles inside are transfered in the structures/vehicles section of the stockpile where they can be retrieved by pressing left click.

Trivia

  • Although most Shippable Crates contain 3 vehicles, the 85K-b “Falchion” is specially designed to be mass-produced and comes in crates of 5.
  • Prior to Update 1.50 ('Inferno'), all vehicles could be made in the Mass Production Factory
    • This was changed so that only 'Base' vehicles could be produced, and 'variants' had to be modified in a Small Assembly Station (though this didn't apply to all vehicles, as some are 'facility-locked')
