Copper Alloy

— In-game description |
Copper Alloy is a type of technology material (also known as a tmat) used in the Engineering Center to progress the technology after the first eight research levels of the Vehicle tech tree.
Acquisition
Structure | Input(s) | Output | Time |
---|---|---|---|
Refinery | 1 x Copper | 1 x Copper Alloy | 00:00:00.24 |
Use
Copper Alloy is only used in the Engineering Center to progress the current research level in the Vehicle Tech Tree. The amount of Copper Alloy required to advance the tech depends on the research level (also known as a tech tier), with higher levels requiring more Alloys.
Doing so will create a Vehicle Prototype Kit (these can only be used in a Garage to create a "prototype" version of that vehicle).
Storage
It stacks up to 100 per slot in inventories. It can be stored in the stockpiles of Bases (32k max).
It can be crated (need stack of 20 per crate) and uncrated with the right click
context menu while interfacing a Seaport, Storage Depot, or Shipping Container.
Crates of Copper Alloy can be directly submitted to any item stockpile that accepts that item to transfer their content. The crates can also be stored in the crate stockpiles of Storage Depots (1000 public, 300 per Reserve Stockpile), Seaports (1000 public, 300 per Reserve Stockpile), Shipping Containers (60), or Storage Ships (1000).
It can be transported by almost any vehicle with inventory slots, but is most commonly transported by Trucks. For long distances, it is much more efficient to transport it in bulk amounts as crates with shipping vehicles carrying Shipping Containers and submit them to a crate stockpile.
Tips
- Since technology materials are important to advance your faction's research, it is highly recommended not to store them in Reserve Stockpiles or Refinery personal queues
- As such, they should be spent or stored in visible stockpiles on the map, preferably in Refineries
Trivia
- Prior to Update 0.47, Iron was used for the entirety of the Vehicle Tech Tree
- With the introduction to Copper, it was changed so the later half of the Tech Tree only used Copper Alloy, rendering Iron Alloy obsolete
