— In-game description |
The Mounted Fissura gd.I (simply known as a Fissura) is a Colonial Mounted Grenade Launcher that can fire 4 grenades in quick succession when mounted.
Description
The Mounted Fissura gd.I is Colonial semi-automatic grenade-launching Mounted Weapon. It has a slow fire rate (17 grenades/min), 31m range (slightly more if on elevated position), 4-grenade magazine, and perfect accuracy. The launcher is always perfectly stable.
It can only use Tremola Grenade GPb-1, Green Ash Grenade, and PT-815 Smoke Grenade. 4 grenades of the same type can be loaded into its magazine and then fired very rapidly (4 grenades in 1.5s) in a parabolic trajectory. It can be used as both anti-infantry and anti-structure.
As a mounted weapon it is a Large Item that must be carried on the shoulder. It can only be fired after being mounted on a deployed Tripod or certain vehicles. When mounted, its mount's inventory gains a dedicated ammo slot that can hold 12 Tremola Grenade GPb-1, 4 PT-815 Smoke Grenade, and 4 Green Ash. Its firing arc is limited to 90 degrees and depends on the mount's direction.

Tactics
The Mounted Fissura gd.I is an interesting tripod weapon as it mostly used as a PvE tool, but is capable of limited amount of PvP with the ability to launch Gas Grenades. Despite this potential, it is more advantageous to only use tremolas in order to maximize your burst explosive damage.
Due to having a arcing firing arc, it is possible to set up the Mounted Fissura gd.I on the ground of a trench and out of line-of-sight of incoming enemy fire. This is especially useful when attacking bunker pieces with Anti-Tank Garrisons on it, as it retaliates against all tripod weapons, and will be unable to directly hit it. Despite this tactic, it is only effective if the structure is within firing range, and there is no better PvE weapons available, such as the KLG901-2 Lunaire F.
When deployed on a Tripod, it uses the same visibility mechanic as soldiers: it is invisible behind solid obstacles, in or behind smoke clouds, in the darkness at night, in the Snow Storm fog, inside bushes (though revealed to people within 10m). Its gunner and itself are revealed to everyone except enclosed vehicle crews for 1 second when firing.
Trivia
- The in-game icon for the Mounted Fissura gd.I is unique compared to other tripod weapons. Unlike other tripod weapons, which are shown on their sides, the Mounted Fissura gd.I is pointed towards us, and the barrel facing in our direction.
- The weapon appears to be based at on elements of several mounted grenade launchers. Most notably the feed system is reminiscent of the American Mk 18 Mod 0 grenade launcher
