The Metalworks Factory is a large player-built facility structure that is used to craft advanced materials. It requires power to function, and can be upgraded to add more crafting options.
Construction
It needs to be built on Foundations with a Construction Vehicle and costs Construction Materials. The Tier 2 Facility technology must be unlocked to build it.
Interactions
- You can access its interface when on foot or in a logistics vehicle by pressing
E
.
- Its internal liquid tanks holds 5000L each and can be refuelled.
- The original builder can instantly demolish it if it was built less than 28 days ago (materials refunded).
- It can be reserved for a Squad to prevent non-members from modifying it in any way (however the stockpile access is not restricted).
- It is immune to Friendly Fire but it can be flagged for "Disruptive Structure Placement" to remove the immunity (5 "votes" needed).
- You can view the Action Logs to check the modifications done to it.
Production
Only one of the crafting options can be active at a time.
Upgrades
This facility can have upgrade modules attached, which will give it additional production options. Only one can be installed on a facility and it cannot be removed (demolishing the facility will refund the upgrade cost). The upgrade materials must be placed inside the facility's inventory in order to install the upgrade (All upgrade materials, such as Processed Construction Materials, will stack in the inventory to help with upgrades that require many of them.
All upgrades will affect the appearance of the facility, with certain upgrades adding pipe inputs/outputs.
Blast Furnace
- Description: A large industrial cauldron for liquefying metals to remove impurities from advanced materials.
- Upgrade Cost: 200
- Requirement: "Tier 2 Facilities" technology must be unlocked.
Engineering Station
- Description: An expanded workshop for manual process of delicate materials.
- Upgrade Cost: 150
- Requirement: "Tier 3 Facilities" technology must be unlocked.
Recycler
- Description: Advanced sorting machinery for sifting piles of scrap metal for useful materials.
- Upgrade Cost: 150
- Requirement: "Tier 2 Facilities" technology must be unlocked.
