Versioning

This article is considered accurate for the current version (1.58) of the game.

This evolution of the “Bardiche” is fitted quad-mounted RPG launchers paired with a high-velocity 12.7mm cannon. The “Ranseur” indicates progress in Kraunian design as they continue to leverage outdated equipment to create deadly, modern armour.
Description

The 86K-c “Ranseur” (also known as a Quadiche) is a late-game Colonial Assault Tank defined by its turret-mounted rocket tubes. It is equipped with a Quad-Mounted RPG Launcher and a high-velocity 12.7mm machine gun.

General Info

Crew

The 86K-c "Ranseur" houses a crew of three soldiers:

  • Driver (Seat 1)
    • Controls the movement of the vehicle, and can see the remaining fuel in the vehicle
  • Turret Gunner (Seat 2)
    • Controls the rotation of the turret
    • Controls the reloading and firing of the 12.7mm machine gun
  • Commander/RPG Gunner (Seat 3)
    • Controls the reloading, and firing of the Quad-Mounted RPG Launchers
    • Capable of directing the crew, as well as giving them a better overview of the battlefield
    • Can open up the hatch by pressing E, which allows the player to use their secondary, such as binoculars

Armament

The 86K-c "Ranseur" has two main armaments:

  • 12.7mm Machine Gun
    • Mounted on the turret (can rotate 360 degrees, turns 20° per second)
    • Ammo Used: 12.7mm
    • Effective Range: 35 meters
    • Maximum Range: 40 meters
    • Reload Duration: 4.5 seconds
    • Fire Rate: 200 rounds per minute
    • High velocity barrel increases damage by 20% (66-99 damage)
    • Magazine Size: 200 rounds
    • Accuracy: pretty good
    • Stability: Can fire nonstop without losing accuracy
  • Quad Mounted RPG Launcher
    • Attached to the turret (98 degree firing arc)
    • Ammo Used: RPG
    • Range: 40 meters
    • Reload Duration: 5.5 seconds per projectile
    • Firing Duration: 1.1 seconds
    • Fire Rate: 9 per minute (reloading after each shot); Salvo of 4 in 3.3 seconds
    • Magazine Size: 4

Inventory

It has 2 dedicated ammo slots that can hold 30 12.7mm magazines and 40 RPGs.

Health & Armor

The 86K-c “Ranseur” has 4000 HP and is disabled under 30% health. It has "Heavy Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire, shrapnel, and 12.7mm machine guns, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. But heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry are a real threat to it.
It has subsystems that have a chance to be disabled by heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry if hit specifically: Tracks: 25% (Anti-Tank Mines always disable them), Fuel Tank: 25%, Turret/Cannon: 25%.
It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 23% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle, or with ammo that has penetration bonuses.
It takes 170 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health, subsystems, and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.

Storage & Transport

The 86K-c “Ranseur” can be stored in a Storage Depot, Seaport or Storage Ship.

It can be packaged into a large Shippable and transported only by certain Shipping Vehicles (Barge, Freighter, Storage Ship, Flatbed Car, or Large Crane).

Tactics

The 86K-c "Ranseur" is an extremely durable Assault Tank that fits a unique role in the Colonial's frontline arsenal, as it can be used in both a PvE and PvP situations (with varying effectiveness). The high durability of the tank, plus its fast-firing short-range quad-RPG Launchers means it must aggressively push enemy armor in order to close the gap and unleash its full volley, than retreat once all the shells are gone. One quirk to this method is how RPG shells function, as they will explode when reaching their max distance. This distance starts when the round was fired, which then travels to its max distance before exploding. This means any tank retreating past the max distance will not damage it. Due to this, the RPG Gunner should determine if the target and determine whether or not it can fire on the enemy vehicle and score hits.

Unlike its base chassis, the 86K-a “Bardiche”, it requires way more coordination to be used effectively, as the Gunner for the machine gun controls the turret rotation, making the main armament reliant on the machine gunner's positioning. Additionally, due to the long reload speeds for the Quad-Launchers, it is only effective with burst damage, which requires all four launchers to be loaded (requiring a total of 24 seconds to load them all). When used in a PvE role, the tank's armaments are best used to take out/suppress enemy infantry, before getting close to an enemy structure and unloading its full volley. In terms of damage, it is extremely effective against Tier 1 and Tier 2 structures, but won't be as effective against concrete (Tier 3) structures.

Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and multiple Filters to avoid dying to Gas Grenades. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the tank. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.

Trivia

  • A "Ranseur" is a form of trident shaped polearm.
    • One such example is painted on top of the vehicle's turret.
  • The tanks introduced in Update 0.49, the 86K-c "Ranseur" and the Gallagher Highwayman Mk. III, are the first medium tanks in the game to use a different type of main ammunition. These tanks use RPG shells and 20mm, instead of the typical 40mm or 68mm shells.
