Versioning

This article is considered accurate for the current version (1.58) of the game.

The Storage Room (also known as an Ammo Room) is a Bunker modification that can store large quantities of various Large Items. It is primarily used in artillery operations, when the need for easily accessed shells are necessary.

A facility that stores equipment and ammunition for artillery. Retrieval is very quickly for this structure.
In-game description

Construction

A Tier 2 Storage Room can be built by modifying any Tier 2 Bunker.

Use Mouse Scroll Wheel to select the bunker wall where the big rack will be placed.

Unlike bunker garrisons, the Storage Room doesn't prevent the construction of Structure Upgrade modifications (Rifle Garrison, etc...) on bunkers adjacent to it. Two storage rooms can even be adjacent.

Structural Integrity

The Tier 2 Storage Room modification signficantly decrease the Structural Integrity of its Bunker Network.

Construction

A Tier 3 Storage Room can be built by modifying a Tier 3 Bunker or by upgrading an existing Tier 2 Storage Room to Tier 3,the latter being cheaper overall as you only need to spend Concrete Materials once. For both cases the Bunker must be connected to a Bunker Base (either through trenches or other bunker pieces) with the Concrete Structures CivicMaterialsIcon.png upgrade. The concrete takes 24 hours to dry and the bunker is more vulnerable the wetter it is.

Use Mouse Scroll Wheel to select the bunker wall where the big rack will be placed.

Structural Integrity

The Tier 3 Storage Room modification very slightly decreases the Structural Integrity of its Bunker Network.

Concrete Settling

It must dry off for 24 hours but it already works while wet. The duration increases during Snow Storms and Rain Storms depending on their intensity (up to double with highest intensity).

While very sturdy when dry, it is vulnerable while still wet. The vulnerability depends on how wet the concrete is and functions as a damage multiplier. Wet concrete that's just been placed has a x10 damage multiplier compared to dry concrete. After 8 hours the damage multiplier is roughly x3, and x2 after 12 hours.

Reservation

The original builder can reserve it for a Squad BtReserve.png for 52 hours in the menu to prevent non-members from modifying it or retrieving items from the stockpile. The reservation can be refreshed BtRefreshBunker.png by any squad member. If the reservation expires, the structure can never be reserved again.

Use

Its interface can be accessed on foot from inside the bunker by pressing E

Storage

The Storage Room can hold up to 100 Large Items and hold 1 crate in its inventory. The room can be used to speed up the shell loading process for artillery pieces nearby. Storage Rooms can be built inside a Storm Cannon platform. It only accepts large Shells, Flame Ammo, Tripods, Tripod Weapons, Sandbag, Barbed Wire, Metal Beam, Concrete Materials, Sea Mines, and Depth Charges. You cannot store different item types in the same storage room.

Crates of Large Items can be directly submitted to the Room's stockpile, just like submitting them to a Base (Right Click > "Submit All To Stockpile"). However the room's short interaction range means it can only be interacted from inside (can't interact with it from driver seat of a logistics vehicle).

The more items are submitted into the room, the more items can be seen on the storage room rack, similar to Material Transfer Stations.

While on foot you can press V to retrieve an item from the stockpile without having to open the storage room's menu.

You can access the room's stockpile from outside the bunker.

Tactics

While Storage Rooms are good for storing artillery shells, it is only useful when they are easily accessible to artillery pieces. This means they must be placed or constructed in a way that makes them accessible above or below ground, especially when there is built-in artillery pieces, such as Storm Cannons. When constructing them, it is ideally located near doorways or Bunker Ramps.

Due to the impact of Storage Rooms on Structural Integrity, they will decrease the health of their Bunker Network. As such, they should not be placed in valuable locations, where overall bunker health is vital, such as frontal bunker pieces, or important bunker structures like Storm Cannons, and Intelligence Centers.

Trivia

  • Prior to Update 1.50 ('Inferno'), the Storage Room used to be called the Ammo Room, and could only hold artillery shells, such as 120mm, 150mm, and 300mm shells. This was later changed, as it could now hold more items, such as Tripod Weapons and various Large Materials (most notably of the building variety).
  • Tier 2 Storage Rooms were added in Update 1.52, as Storage Rooms were only available for Tier 3 bunker pieces (making them much more costly in their construction).
