A heavily armoured variant of the King Spire, the Gallant Mk. II boasts a weighty 30mm cannon at the cost of top speed.
In-game description

The King Gallant Mk. II is a Warden Scout Tank equipped with a 30mm main cannon.

General Info

Crew

The King Gallant Mk. II houses a crew of two soldiers:

  • Driver (Seat 1)
    • Controls the movement of the vehicle, and can see the remaining fuel in the tank
  • Gunner/Commander (Seat 2)
    • Controls the movement, firing, and reloading of the 30mm cannon
    • Capable of directing the tank crew, as well as giving them a better overview of the battlefield
    • Can open up the hatch by pressing E, which allows the player to use their secondary, such as a binocular

Armament

The King Gallant Mk. II is equipped with one main armament:

  • 30mm Cannon
    • Mounted on a turret (can rotate 360 degrees, turns 25° per second)
    • Ammo Used: 30mm
    • Range: 35 meters
    • Reload Duration: 5 seconds
    • Firing Duration: 2 seconds
    • Fire Rate: 8.6 per minute

Inventory

It has a dedicated ammo slot that can hold 40 shells.

Health & Armor

The King Gallant Mk. II has 1350 HP and is disabled under 30% health. It has "Heavy Armor" resistance: it can soak small arms fire, shrapnel, and 12.7mm machine guns, and it is immune to Flamethrowers. But it won't last long when faced with heavy explosives or anti-tank weaponry.
It has subsystems that have a chance to be disabled by heavy explosives and anti-tank weaponry if hit specifically: Tracks: 30% (Anti-Tank Mines always disable them), Fuel Tank: 40%, Turret/Cannon: 20%.
It has Tank Armor. With it, in best case scenario, penetrating projectiles only have a 50% chance of penetrating and doing damage. That chance goes up quickly if the armor is worn or if it is shot from up close, or on the side or rear from a direct angle, or with ammo that has penetration bonuses.
It takes 135 Basic Materials to fully repair it from 1% to 100% health with a Hammer. Its health, subsystems, and Tank Armor can be instantly repaired at a Garage for 100 Basic Materials.

Storage & Transport

The King Gallant Mk. II can be stored in a Storage Depot, Seaport or Storage Ship.

It can be packaged into a medium Shippable and transported by any Shipping Vehicle (Crane, Flatbed Truck, Barge, Freighter, Storage Ship, Landing Ships, Flatbed Car, or Large Crane).

Tactics

The King Gallant Mk. II is an effective vehicle that is decent at dispatching infantry, light structures, and light vehicles. Its heavy armor and rotating 30mm turret give it an advantage over early-game vehicles such as Armored Cars, Tankettes, and potentially Half-Tracks. These vehicles might not be able to effectively destroy the Scout Tank, though other mid-game equipment can overwhelm it if not properly supported.

30mm ammunition does decent damage against heavily armored vehicles, and structures, though it might not be the best tool, especially when there are more powerful equipment that can do the same job, but easier. On the other hand, 30mm is fairly cheap and is a cost-effective round.

Standard Equipment Loadout
Like with every other armored vehicle, the crew should ALWAYS equip themselves with a Gas Mask and multiple Filters to avoid dying to Gas Grenades. Additionally, they should bring a Hammer and Basic Materials to repair the scout tank. These tactics can be buffed by wearing either a Tank Uniform or an Engineer Uniform.

Trivia

  • The King Gallant Mk. II is currently the only vehicle in the Warden arsenal that uses 30mm ammunition.
  • Scout Tanks used to be larger prior to Update 1.50 ('Inferno'), which made them as big as the resized Light Tanks post-Update 0.49.
