A Wall is an upgradable player built structure designed to block enemy movement.
“
A basic barrier that is used to prevent passage through an area.
„
— In-game description
Construction
It must be built on ground that isn't too steep. It can't be built on Roads, beaches, bridges, or rocks. If you want a wall across a Road or Railway Track you'll have to build a Gate
Its length is adjustable, between 3 and 10 meters, and does not affect its health.
While placing it, it automatically attaches itself to existing Gates and Walls. Hold Shift to deactivate this.
Use
Protection
The Tier 1 Wall blocks the movement of infantry and vehicles too weak to ram it, both friendly and enemy. It is see-through. Bullets and other hitscan projectiles (30mm, 40mm, etc...) can pass through it, only the fence posts at both ends can block them.
Walls are a niche defensive tool, as they can provide quick and relatively cheap protection against incoming enemy fire. However, due to their large height and massive profile, it can easily become a liability as it can restrict friendly attacks, and allow enemies to easily reach your position.
Walls should primarily be used to restrict small areas of land that cannot be protected by Bunker Base defenses or Pillboxes. Additionally, Walls should NEVER be built in front of Bunker Garrisons, as it will affect their line-of-sight, preventing them from retaliating against any enemy attacks.
Tips
Walls and Gates of the same tier have the same health, so all pieces should be upgraded to the same tier in order to maximize effectiveness.
Trivia
Prior to Update 1.52, Tier 3 walls had an extremely large repair cost, which made their effective application extremely subpar.
This was later changed, as the repair rates for both Tier 3 Walls and Gates were standardized, so both required Concrete Materials to upgrade.
