A Wall is an upgradable player built structure designed to block enemy movement.

A basic barrier that is used to prevent passage through an area.
In-game description

Construction

It must be built on ground that isn't too steep. It can't be built on Roads, beaches, bridges, or rocks. If you want a wall across a Road or Railway Track you'll have to build a Gate

Its length is adjustable, between 3 and 10 meters, and does not affect its health.

While placing it, it automatically attaches itself to existing Gates and Walls. Hold Shift to deactivate this.

Use

Protection

The Tier 1 Wall blocks the movement of infantry and vehicles too weak to ram it, both friendly and enemy. It is see-through. Bullets and other hitscan projectiles (30mm, 40mm, etc...) can pass through it, only the fence posts at both ends can block them.

Resistance

It is immune to small arms and fragmentation grenades, but not to 12.7mm machine gun fire or heavier explosives. At Tier 1, it is instantly destroyed if rammed by a vehicle (except Bicycle, Ambulance, and Motorcycle).

In-game description

Construction

It is built by upgrading a Tier 1 Wall with a Hammer and 30 Basic Materials.

Tier 2 Gates must be fully researched in the Weapons and Structure IconFilterWeaponsStructures.png Tech Tree in order to be constructed.

Use

Protection

It prevents infantry and vehicles from accessing an area, both friendly and enemy. The Tier 2 Wall is solid and not see through.

In-game description

Construction

It is built by upgrading a Tier 2 Wall with 15 Concrete Materials.

Tier 3 Gates must be fully researched in the Weapons and Structure IconFilterWeaponsStructures.png Tech Tree in order to be constructed.

Since the Tier 3 Wall requires Concrete Materials it must dry for 24 hours during which it is more vulnerable the wetter it is.

Use

Protection

It prevents infantry and vehicles from accessing an area, both friendly and enemy. The Tier 3 Wall is solid and not see through.

Resistance

It is immune to small arms, fragmentation grenades, and 12.7mm machine gun fire. It's also pretty resistant to all types of explosives except Demolition ones.

Tactics

Walls are a niche defensive tool, as they can provide quick and relatively cheap protection against incoming enemy fire. However, due to their large height and massive profile, it can easily become a liability as it can restrict friendly attacks, and allow enemies to easily reach your position.

Walls should primarily be used to restrict small areas of land that cannot be protected by Bunker Base defenses or Pillboxes. Additionally, Walls should NEVER be built in front of Bunker Garrisons, as it will affect their line-of-sight, preventing them from retaliating against any enemy attacks.

Tips

  • Walls and Gates of the same tier have the same health, so all pieces should be upgraded to the same tier in order to maximize effectiveness.

Trivia

  • Prior to Update 1.52, Tier 3 walls had an extremely large repair cost, which made their effective application extremely subpar.
    • This was later changed, as the repair rates for both Tier 3 Walls and Gates were standardized, so both required Concrete Materials to upgrade.
