This article is timeless and should be accurate for any version of the game.

The Char de Bataille (colloquially known as BT) is a class of late-game heavy-armoured tracked combat vehicles. They are equipped with large amounts of tank armor and a large cannon which is reloaded from an engineering seat, separate from the gunner. They consume Heavy Oil as fuel. Like other tanks, they trigger Anti-Tank Mines. They require a larger tank crew to operate effectively and a strong supply line in order to maintain combat presence due to its large ammunition and proprietary fuel type.

Trivia

  • Battle Tanks had a tenuous development history in Foxhole. They were initially added in Update 0.20, but were later removed in Update 0.40 for balancing. They were reintroduced in Update 1.50 ('Inferno') with a major overhaul in almost all aspects, with the exception of crew roles.
    • With their reintroduction, they were drastically overhauled in how they are produced and used, by drastically increasing the materials/logi structures needed to construct it, increasing their construction time, and the fuel/ammo needed to use it. Currently, the shortest construction time is 18 hours, with some Battle Tanks requiring longer construction times.
    • Upon their reintroduction, they reintroduced two Battle Tanks, which were the Flood Mk. I and the Lance-36.
  • The Engineer used to switch between different ammo types by pressing F.
    • Tank shell ammo types were removed in Update 0.37.
  • In Update 1.51, the game reintroduced one Battle Tank and introduced a new Battle Tank, which was the Lance-25 "Hasta".
    • The Lance-25 "Hasta" is the newest Battle Tank introduced into the game after a long period of time, with it being one of the few tanks that uses 94.5mm. The Flood Juggernaut Mk. VII is a reintroduced Battle Tank, but was revamped and replaced the 12.7mm machine gun with a heavy flamethrower.
    • The Flood Ascension Mk. V and Lance-40 “Halberd” were removed and not reintroduced.
  • In Update 1.54 ('Naval Warfare'), the Flood Mk. IX Stain and the Lance-46 “Sarissa” were introduced. Unlike other Battle Tanks, these were long-range mobile artillery pieces, or Self-Propelled Guns (abbreviated as SPG).
    • Unlike previous Battle Tanks, these used 150mm shells, and needed to be deployed in order to fire.
