Region Zones
This article is timeless and should be accurate for any version of the game.
Region Zones (also known as Sub-Regions) are subdivisions of Regions, which could display various info regarding a map area.
Description
All Regions in the world are divided into various zones that can be claimed by either faction. Region Zone perimeters are shown on the map, and are visually denote frontlines and all the territory owned by each faction. Each Region Zone has a single World Base (either a Town Base or Relic Base ), and whichever faction that owns that specific base owns the region zone. Each region zone is colored-coded based on who controls its world base (green if it's controlled by the Colonial Faction; blue if it's controlled by the Warden Faction; no color if the base is not owned by either faction). Ownership of a given region zone allows players of that faction to check the contents of Resource Fields and World Resource Mines in it.
Starting Territory
At the start of a World Conquest, every Region Zone that starts under your faction's control will be assigned as "Friendly Starting Territory" while the others will be "Neutral / Enemy Starting Territory". These won't change for the entirety of the war. This status can be checked on the map by hovering your mouse over any area within that region zone. It influences how fast Bases within those zones can unlock upgrades. Progress rate is 3 times faster in Friendly starting territory than in Neutral/Enemy territory.
Trivia
- Region Zones used to have Supply Consumption Modifiers attached to them, but were removed in Update 1.56. This game mechanic was part of a building overhaul in Update 1.52, which added various new mechanics and quality-of-life changes.
- The division of the regions into zones is done with a Voronoi diagram.
