Charge explosive qui explose à une profondeur donnée. Ces munitions anti-sous-marines sont tirées depuis le pont des navires de guerre à l'aide de lanceurs dédiés.
Description en jeu

The Model-7 “Evie” is a Grenade Sous-Marine, which is a large explosive that is primarily used against underwater Naval Vehicles, such as Submarines. In order to be launched, it must be primed to explode at a certain depth.

Uses

Specifications

  • The Depth Charge has a depth-set-fuse which will detonate the depth charge after it has reached a certain depth underwater, from a minimum of 5 meters deep, to a max of 30 meters deep (selected by the gunner). It also detonates on contact.
  • The explosion deals 900 High Explosive damage in a 6.5m radius and decreasing amounts in a 7.5m radius.
  • The Depth Charge does not incur a loss of horizontal speed after hitting the water, so when aiming a depth charge you must account for how far horizontally the depth charge will continue to fly under the water to its detonation depth.

Storage

Grenade Sous-Marine does not stack in inventories (1 per slot) except in ammo slots dedicated to Grenade Sous-Marine in certain vehicle or structure inventories (varying stack sizes).

It is a Large Item, a soldier can only carry one at a time on their shoulder.

It can be stored in Base stockpiles but also in Material Pallets, Rooster - Tumblebox Trailer, Material Transfer Stations, or Storage Rooms.

Grenade Sous-Marine crates can be stored in the stockpile of a Storage Depot, Seaport, or Storage Ship. Crates can be submitted to any stockpile that accept Grenade Sous-Marine to transfer their content into it.

Tips

  • Due to Submarines only being able to be effectively damaged by Depth Charges, it is essential that any combat ships that can use them ALWAYS have them on hand.
  • Scoring a direct hit on a gunboat with a Depth Charge will deal significant damage to it- there are better weapons for this, but in an emergency and at close range, a good hit can disable or decrew an attacker.

Trivia

  • When the Model-7 “Evie” was introduced in 1.54 Naval Warfare, they were Colonial-exclusive. This was due to them having the only armament in the game that uses them (the Conqueror). This was changed in Update 1.56, with the Wardens having their own vehicle that could shoot them, making the ammunition faction-neutral.
