Reality

I got curious, did something big like FMG exist in some army? wikipedia:14.5×114mm was either for mounted MG or for heavy AT rifles. wikipedia:Infantry support gun is more like minituarized Field Arty starting at higher calibers. And history of MGs Machine_gun#Maxim_and_World_War_I seems to favor smaller more mobile variants like Maxim MG. Do we have this implementation because ground is just flatter in game?
