Update: A small client fix (0.5.5.1) has been released that disables seat switching (which was causing a rare server crash) and adds in the updated version of the Farranac Coast map

New Content

Gameplay Features & Changes

  • New Game Mode: Weekly War Games
    • Offers a fresh take on wars every week
    • 1-3 gameplay modifiers will be applied, changing the rules of war
    • Modifier List
      • No Man's Land - Outposts and Barracks are unavailable
      • PvP - No AI inside structures
      • Explosive - Sulfur respawn rate is accelerated
      • High Tech - Technology Part yield rate is accelerated
      • Town Fortress - Only structures near Town Halls will be manned by AI
      • Engineers - CVs can be used to build any structure
      • Extra Labor - Manufacturing yields more resources for the lower populated faction
      • Take Cover! - Howitzers are available at Technology Level 1
  • New Feature: Treading Water (limited Swimming)
  • Structure visual damage states
    • Structures now change appearance depending on how much health they have remaining
  • Seat switching in vehicle (cabin seats only) [Disabled in hotfix due to critical bug]
    • Z to cycle between seats
    • Ctrl-1/2/3 to switch to a specific seat in a vehicle cabin
  • Items can now be stacked to 100 inside inventories
  • All structures are now repairable
  • Structures can only be upgraded when a Hammer is equipped
  • Players are now visible by other players inside smoke if they are very close to each other
  • Landing APC is now available on all maps
  • Structure decay system revamp
    • Almost every structure in the game decays over time now, which reduces late game structure spam
    • Decay begins after a certain amount of time (e.g. 1 real time day for Foxholes)
    • Decay is gradual and is effectively very slow damage over time
    • Decayed structures can be repaired back to full health
  • Farranac Coast has been updated to include additional islands with buildable areas

Game Balance

Other Changes

  • Character Context Menu
    • Hold ALT and click on a character to access this menu
    • Various F1 screen functionality is now accessible through this menu (squad, mute, commend, etc)
  • Server Queue revamp
    • Players will no longer get stuck in the queue indefinitely
    • Queues will no longer build up even though there are many slots available in-game
    • Wait times are reduced significantly when there is room on the server
    • Coming soon: Faction specific queues
  • Scroll through text chat history with Ctrl-Up/Down
  • Player character now plays an animation when walking through barbed wire (instead of freezing up)

Major Bug Fixes

  • Players are no longer stuck in the revive animation if their patients are killed
  • Gun Turrets will no longer continue to fire at vehicles once they are destroyed
  • Barge explosions (on destruction) will no longer damage nearby vehicles
  • Several German translations have been corrected
  • Landing APC mesh no longer jitters when hit by tracers
  • Multiple Town Halls will no longer be claimed as Home Towns after a server restores a war
  • When Light Tanks are destroyed, the correct destroyed mesh will now be shown
  • Editing the middle of a chat message no longer moves the cursor to the end of the line
