Tempest Island is a World Conquest region located on the eastern edge of the world. It is an island map that features a large, rocky main island surrounded by several smaller islands. Formerly a Skirmish map, the old map layout can be seen in the main island, albeit rotated 90 degrees.

Logistical Locations

Waterways & Railway Lines

There are no permanent railway structures placed in this region, so player-made tracks are necessary to do train logistics.

Water Wells

Industry

Due to being an Island Region, it's industrial world structures will NOT change with different war configurations. As such, these hexes can have varying levels of logistical sustainability.

This map will always include these logistical structures, which can provide various frontline needs.

There are six Shipyards located in the region:

Storage

  • Location(s) that contain a Seaport
    • The Iris
  • Location(s) that contain a Storage Depot

Update History

  • 0.8 - Tempest Island was added into the game as a Skirmish map (the smallest of the skirmish maps).
    • It was unique in that it had pre-built Howitzers located in strategic positions for each side to use. There were three howitzers near each side's Port Base, and three howitzers located on each side of The Iris.
  • 0.14 - Tempest Island was retired, however a modified version of the map was used for the first Dead Harvest event.
  • 0.20 Foundation of War - the map was reintroduced into the game (0.20.17.9), with major redesigns.
  • 0.21 - Map was redesigned in various ways
    • Added landmasses to allow road access to the mainland via border travel
    • Introduced beaches for the construction of Motorboats (this change was for three maps to allow their construction).
  • 0.23 Relics of War - various maps were connected to the larger world map due to Skirmish mode being retired.
  • 0.29 - Border Forts has been removed and been repurposed as Zone Bases.
  • 0.33 - Map was redesigned in various ways
    • The main island was reconstructed to fix landscape hole issues and some towns were relocated for game balance reasons
    • The Iris was modified to make water logistics more suitable
  • 1.54 Naval Warfare - The region received a major rework, with all landmasses being disconnected from the mainland and reworking many of the minor islands.
    • the map is still connected to other hexes via water
  • 1.55 - The Seaport was moved from Liar's Haven to The Iris, and the Stratos Valve waterway being widened.

Lore

Hollow Book

Hollow Book
LoreIcon3.png
At first glance, it appears to be a simple book. As you shift it between your hands, you feel something clanking around inside.
You tap the cover; It’s hollow.

Inside you find a hole carved out between the pages, revealing a generous amount of dried jerky bound with cedar twine. It smells delicious, but you know it’s worth too much to consume. Though your hunger might betray you.

It’s been ages since you’ve smelled decent meat.

Carden Callahan, the fourth son of our first Archon, Iain Callahan, took it upon his shoulders to quell the riots in Whedon’s Row. The soldiers were reluctant to support him initially, due to his lack of experience in matters of warfare.

As unrest spread southwest to Ogmaran, Callahan, leading a small force of his own men, infiltrated the town and held it without shedding a drop of blood. Deft in the art of diplomacy, his silver tongue earned him a bevy of new followers. They commemorated his leadership with a name befitting the son of a legend.

Thus, the Brigade of the Eight Sons was formed. Callahan led them into battle, proudly bearing the honour of his brothers until his death at the hands of Velian rebels.
