Protection Level

User:DerpyGuy0304 can you stop protecting everything?? We should be welcoming the randoms to edit the wiki. [Allow only autoconfirmed users] doesn't even let people with no accounts to make edits. Stop. Protecting. Everything. 165.161.8.46 17:21, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

I just looked at the Factions edits, Derp can you stop acting like a retard for an admin? 165.161.8.46 17:23, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
Stop using gamepedia while you are at school --Africandave (talk) 12:20, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

Proper way to protect from occasional vandalism is patrolling unauthorized IP edits like that https://foxhole.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Factions&type=revision&diff=12647&oldid=12644 a If you want to limit changes of undeveloped pages to admins, then you should switch from wiki format to a something like a community guide. Read this help page https://help.gamepedia.com/Patrolled_edits Admin lock should be used only for mainpage/templates to keep navigation safe, as such pages get outdated rarely. Wrong, admins of a wiki regularly lock pages and images that receive malicious edits and trolling. Certain pages will always be more prone to vandalism and if they are pages that rarely need updating (like faction pages) a lock is totally justified. Users can always post recommended edits on the TALK pages of locked pages and then a admin/guardian can simply copy paste the new edit in for you. idk the map pages don't really seem troll-able material though --Africandave (talk) 11:37, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
I realise this might have sounded snarky, but as an example when i was maintaining another wiki there were always trolls from each faction editing pages with QQing about something being OP or name-calling, slurs and even doxxing (idk why people take games so seriously), as the game becomes more popular it becomes more and more common. Anyway, for the other pages they simply require an account to edit, which I don't see as a big deal (If you edit without an account frequently I encourage you to make one especially if your country/isp issues you a static IP address). --Africandave (talk) 12:15, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
I just wanted to change "Members of one faction" to "Players of one faction" as minor edit, and this lock just hinders it. Change it for me please, User:DerpyGuy0304. Paul Newman Esq (talk) 15:33, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
